A favorite of fashion bloggers, off-duty models, and the rest of us on the hunt for an easy weekend look, the ubiquitous topknot shows no signs of abating. But much like winning a round of Candy Crush Saga, the seemingly simple do can be tricky to master. With this plight in mind, hair genius Sarah Potempa created The WRAP UP, a nifty tool that helps you score the perfect topknot, sleek chignon, or tousled low bun. Made with strong, cushy foam, The WRAP UP secures your updo without the help of a zillion bobby pins. Three hair color-matching options, Black, Brunette, and Blonde, ensure your secret weapon remains a secret.
I love the Sarahpotempa wrap-up. So easy to get a cute and perfectly formed bun. This is so easy to use. I am still learning how to do basic hairstyles (e.g., french braid, loose waves) and even I can use this and get the look I'm going for. I must have for those of us who want to look like we know how to style hair, but really have no idea. It's probably also a great thing to have for those of you who are more experienced.5
I think there should be a hair length minimum stated when purchasing this product. With my hair, medium length, just past my shoulders and minimally layered, I had a difficult time getting all of the pieces to stay together. The directions say to roll the Wrap up-ward so the seam of the tool is in the back. I found that with my hair, it was best to wrap under with the seam in the front, that way I could pin and fix the pieces that fell out a little more easily. if your hair is anything like mine, this tool works, but you will definitely need pins and hair paste to keep everything together.4
I was lucky enough to be taught how to use this product by Sarah herself at a recent Birchbox Soho event! If you ever struggled with a donut or sock this is the solution you need! I used to spend about 15-20 minutes rolling my thick layered hair in a donut only to still need to stick parts in and touch up - but with the wrap up in 2 minutes I have a perfect ballerina bun!
If you have layers start the rolling process only half way up your pony tail to make sure that there are no hairs sticking out. Also, Sarah quickly sprayed the paddle brush with hair spray before pulling my hair into a pony tail to ensure an extremely smooth and tight finish.
Could not be happier or more thankful to the ever sweet Sarah for this awesome product!
I really like this product. Being someone with fine hair that is about shoulder length, it's not always easy for me to have a full looking bun. The wrap up is such a necessary product for me! This is so easy to use and really is a lifesaver on those days where my hair just doesn't want to cooperate. This product is so affordable and is worth every cent!5
I have so much hair and I could never get a sock bun to work. I love wearing all my hair up but it's hard to make it all stay... the wrap up is possibly the greatest bun-tool ever. I love that I can make it neat or messy and I get compliments every time I use it.
The only down-side:
**Keep away from cats! they love to chew them up!**
At first when I got this product I wasn't sure if I was using it right, however after I used it a few times I feel like I am always wearing it! It is quick and easy to put in your hair, and it is great to even dress up your hair do!5
This actually is easy to use and does the job. My bun seriously looked really good on the first try!5
I like this hair product. It holds my hair in a perfect bun for work if I don't have time to straighten it. I hope that it ends up being durable because it is great to have on hand.4
Created a perfect bun! I have really long hair so I usually have to use several Bobbie pens when putting my hair in a bun. But now, I just follow the directions and in less than five minutes, I have the perfect bun. It can be messy, slicked down with lots of hair spray. It can be made to look gigantic or rather small depending on how tight I make the bun. This product rocks!5
I really wanted for this product to work and hoped based on the reviews and marketing (for all hair types!) that it would. Within two seconds of getting my hair wrapped around the tool, it popped back open. My mane is just too wild for The WRAP Up to tame. : ( I guess I'll be living the topknot free life or just continue attempting makeshift versions!2
