Invented by celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa, this game-changing curling iron is genius enough to crown her the Thomas Edison of hot tools. Her light-bulb equivalent of a beauty breakthrough? The steel rod rotates on its own, saving you the trouble of manually wrapping your curls—and ensuring that your ringlets are evenly spaced. Adored by celebs like Heidi Klum and Mindy Kaling, the high-tech number is just as effective on us mere mortals.
At first I was very hesitant to buy because of the price yet I decided based on other reviews to give it a shot and I definitely do not regret it. It is very easy to use and I can quickly do my waves without any fuss. It's a wonderful product5
I don't normally spend this much money on my hair tools, but saw the great reviews and decided to try it. It is worth the money! I have never been able to get nice looking curls with other curling irons, but with this one, it's so easy! Just press a button and it does the work for you! My hair looked great and it was so easy to style!5
I was SO EXCITED for this product. My hair is LONG, past my mid-back, blonde, chemically treated. I read other reviews, and it too pulled some of my hair out as well, not too concerning for me though bc it didn't hurt. Curls didn't last longer than 30 min and you can only make it go left or right. Other wands you can manipulate your hair a few ways and depending on how you hold the wand depends on the type of curl that is produced. I bought the sedu 25mm wand, hands down...sedu wand is 100% better than this. I have NO IDEA where the good reviews come from..they must have super thin shoulder length hair. BUY A SEDU!!! or a NUME!2
Waited a long time to buy this because of the price. But worth every penny! My daughter and I have very thick hair and the curls stay in very well. Takes a little practice to learn the technique but easy to use after you play with it. Do not regret this purchase.5
Finally! A curling iron that is easy enough to use that I actually enjoy using it! I have owned standard irons in the past and recently bought a curling wand, but this is soooooo much easier that I actually see myself using it on a regular basis! It takes me 30 minutes and a good deal of effort to curl my hair with my curling wand. (I have very long, fine hair). I am able to produce the same results in about 15 minutes with the Beachwaver with very minimal effort. I have hard to curl hair and do have to use some product to get the curls to hold but that is the case regardless of the heat tool that I am using. This tool is equally effective as the other tools that I own and SO much easier. I would highly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a way to streamline their hair routine. I think it would work best for someone with shoulder length or longer hair since that's when the automated wrapping of the hair around the barrel is the biggest advantage. If you have short hair, I don't think this tool with offer as many advantages and might even be more trouble than it's worth due to the slightly larger size. NOTE: I have read reports of people whose Beachwaver has stopped working after minimal use so be sure to register the product for the warranty coverage as soon as you receive it!5
This is a great hair tool. My hair falls just below my shoulders and it is perfect for creating a nice wave. And its so easy once you get the hang of it. I can finally curl my hair for work (so long ponytail) and it doesn't take long at all. A bit pricey but I used a 20% off I got after downloading the mobile app. Love it!5
THE GOOD: I just got this thing two days ago and have used it twice already-- it's great. It took me about 25 minutes to curl my hair all the way around (I have long hair and a lot of it) the first time, and right around 20 min the second time. I'm thinking after a few more tries I can knock it down to around 15? Which is pretty awesome in my opinion!
THE BAD: The wand is enormous. I couldn't tell by the photo how big this thing was going to be. Even my husband's eyes bulged when he saw it. I'm a small girl with small hands so this was a little hard for me to handle, but I'm getting better and I think I will eventually do fine with it. Also, the instructions say to always clamp the hair with the clamp facing inward toward you, and I disagree with that. If you do it that way on the left side you get clamp marks on your hair! But it works fine that way on the right. So on the LEFT- clamp outward, and on the RIGHT- clamp inward. Remember that :) And lastly be careful not to accidentally click the "GO" button before you're ready. It will start spinning on you and mess you all up. Someone else mentioned their hair getting stuck but I had no issues with that at all. I just made sure the little "kickstand" thing was pushed down so it wasn't in the way at all.
THE UGLY: As I mentioned, the wand is huge. It's also very hot. I had it set at 350 which was the default temp and also what it said was necessary for my type of hair. When I was curling the back of my head, my hand got tired and I unintentionally dropped my wrist to relax. The wand touched the back of my next for a split second and left me a nasty 2 inch burn mark. So, beware of this!
All that said, I love this thing and am so happy I got it. I definitely recommend it!
I was extremely skeptical about paying this much for a curling iron for my hair ( I waited a bit which is something I don't generally do as I'm an impulse buyer) that is hard to get to hold curl. My hair is basically like wet angel hair. Anyway, I've only used this twice and I was not 100% confident in my ability to use it, but I got it and I couldn't be more pleased. I used it for a concert , office day/ work event and everyone was complimenting my hair, it was great. People that I have known for a long time said. I swear this is the best your hair has ever looked. The curl held well, although I wash everyday so I don't know about the multi day hold. Don't hesitate, get one of these! I'm so pumped!5
I love that it has the right/left function. My only critique is that the buttons are sensitive and occasionally as I am placing hair in the clip it switches sides without me realizing I hit the button.4
I was very excited about this product because I needed something to reduce the time it takes to curl my long, thin hair. I really enjoyed how easy it was to use this, but I do not like the clamp mark it makes at the end of my hair.3
