You’re a mountain man: You prefer scaling cliffs to the treadmill, and have never heard of spin class. Scrub down with this brawny bar, which contains a slew of hydrating oils like olive, coconut, hemp, and soybean, all blended into a shea butter base. Deeply cleansing and never drying, this soap will leave you smelling as fresh as a forest—and feeling like you could chop wood with your bare hands.
I liked all aspects of this soap except the way it left me feeling sticky due to the pine tar.3
I have used this bar of soap well more than 10 times since receiving it in my August Birchbox. I don't normally use Bar Soap but the Smell of this is amazing. My significant other loves the smell. The Texture is not the greatest. It feels like sandpaper. The clean is nice too. Doesn't dry out skin like most bar soaps. Overall a good product.4
I thought this was a gag gift. It feels like you're punishing your skin, it turns your skin to a tar-like dark black color (you look filthy), stains your bathtub, and makes you smell like a pine tree car freshener. This is such an awful product and I can't believe this is actually stocked by Birchbox. Also, you've gotta love the packaging and how it dissolves and falls apart in your hand... Yikes.1
Usually never use bar soap, but loved this one; i was sampled black soap and it smells good, it scrubs well, and black lather is very unusual4
My absolute favorite part of this soap is how good it smells! It smells absolutely amazing. It also exfoliates really well so that's nice too!5
This product made my skin feel pretty good, but the pine tar scent was not for me. I'd definitely be willing to try some of the other, less "masculine" scents.4
The scent of this soap was too strong for me. I'm not a lumberjack. I ended up pitching it.2
I received the gold moss scent. The soap feels good in my hand, lathers and cleans well, and smells quite good. In fact, the scent is so pleasant that I'm also using bars as room fresheners and dresser drawer sachets.5
I love the scent of this soap. It feels pretty rough on the skin which is what I expected from the word "Tar". It does also leave my skin really dry afterwards though.4
The packaging is cool and it has a great name, but I do not use bar soap. It smells great...like the woods.3
