You’re a mountain man: You prefer scaling cliffs to the treadmill, and have never heard of spin class. Scrub down with this brawny bar, which contains a slew of hydrating oils like olive, coconut, hemp, and soybean, all blended into a shea butter base. Deeply cleansing and never drying, this soap will leave you smelling as fresh as a forest—and feeling like you could chop wood with your bare hands.
As far as bar soap goes, this is right up at the top. I REALLY enjoyed the smell. It wasn't too much and it didn't linger. The black was kind of neat too. The exfoliating grains surprised me as they can't be felt before it's used for the first time. For the most part, they felt great. I just didn't scrub the more sensitive parts of my body with it as it would have been a bit too abrasive. This would definitely be my go to after a weekend of camping or hiking. My skin felt a little dry after using it, but that could be just because it was a new soap or my water. I was surprised there wasn't a full bar in the box as the full bar is only $6, which is an awesome price for the quality of the bar. Oh well. this is definitely an item I can see myself buying.4
I was a little worried about using this since the soap is black but I'm so glad I did. It's smells awesome and is right up there with my regular soap when it comes to feeling clean afterwards. Will be purchasing!!4
The scent of the dry bar of soap was overwhelming with pine tar. I thought there was no way that I would want to smell like that but gave it a try anyway. After you lather it up it becomes a rich scent and doesn't overpower your nose with the original rich bouquet. It lasts fairly long it seems, which is also a bonus.4
I felt awake! I felt clean! I loved the lather, I am concerned about it staining my shower, but the smell is just great! I will be buying this and I can faintly smell it hours after using and it makes me feel really clean!5
The Pine Tar soap might be my favorite soap scent ever. I wish I could get that scent in a cologne.5
The smell was overpowering but it was ok! I'm just not a bar soap kind of guy, hard to was the goods with a bar!3
I found this soap to be a little strong in scent and tough to work into a lather. I'm more of a body wash person.3
This tar black bar of soap was responsible for an (arguably) pleasant aroma that I originally took to be bug spray permeating from my mail box. I can’t decide if this is the best bar of soap I’ve ever used or the worst. The bar itself smells like essence of pine-soul. That is to say the soul of a pine forest, not Pine-sol the stuff used to poison that little girl in The Sixth Sense. The Birchbox itself smelled like a concentrated dose. The soap smelled nice, but seemed to have left it’s strength lingering within the box. It contains chunks of oatmeal in it so that you get a nice exfoliating clean feeling. This furthers the illusion that you are in fact rubbing a pine cone against your more sensitive areas. And when they list pine tar as an ingredient, they aren’t kidding. This thing bleeds black, to the point where the bottom of my tub looks like a black hole. It’s the best smelling coal pinecone you’ll ever groom with. I think I love it.4
as a child at summer camp, we had to clean the bathrooms with big buckets of pine cleaner. the smell reminds me of that experience which weirdly is totally amazing.5
Made me feel clean and smells fantastic. GF loved it.5
