You’re a mountain man: You prefer scaling cliffs to the treadmill, and have never heard of spin class. Scrub down with this brawny bar, which contains a slew of hydrating oils like olive, coconut, hemp, and soybean, all blended into a shea butter base. Deeply cleansing and never drying, this soap will leave you smelling as fresh as a forest—and feeling like you could chop wood with your bare hands.
I really enjoyed this product. One of the better items in my birchbox. The pine smell isn't overwhelming but it works a great lather and leaves me feeling very clean. I also feel like I'm getting more uses out of it than I would other bar soaps.5
On the plus side, this soap smells great. On the minus side, it feels like washing yourself wearing a Freddy Krueger glove, and something in the bar turns all the water it touches black, staining your towel if you try to dry it off before throwing it back in your gym bag. If you really want to use this soap, put it in a ziplock bag to protect your fingers from cuts and discoloration.2
Usually don't use bar soap but this is fantastic. Great scent, and great cleanser.5
This is a really unique soap bar. I received a sample of the "pine tar" version, and it's great and very interesting. It's all black (looks just like a piece of tar), and it suds up as black on your body. But it's got a great, not-overpowering, pine scent, and it has a great texture for exfoliating. I'm a big fan.5
This was the pine tar black bar soap. I was happy to see that the black from the soap didn't stain my skin. The smell wasn't my favorite and I choose body wash/soap based on smell.4
I really liked this product, but the texture was a little too much for me to bear on sensitive areas. Its a nice soap that i would use every so often, but not for daily use4
I like the texture. Almost like a scrub because it is so tough.5
I received the Pine Tar in my Birchbox and while it did smell clean it also reminded me of PineSol floor cleaner which is not what I am going for. Lather is nice though.4
This soap surprised me. At first off of appearance I was unsure. The scent was welcoming so I tried it and my experience was awesome. I was thinking about purchasing a full size bar as soon as the sample runs out.5
For a suburbanite family man, this just didn't work. I will say that this does the job and for someone that likes the scent and needs a good scrub - this will suit their needs. I tried pulling off the scent after a good workout doing yardwork, but apparently needed more of a forest behind me to pull it off.3
