We’re all about transparency. In the super social age we live in—from showcasing our every move on Foursquare to posting images of each and every single meal—it’s pretty safe to say we’re not hiding anything. Needless to say, we’re all about Alison Raffaele’s Transparent Finish. This loose powder, colorless and weightless on the face, can be applied over base layers (face cream, sunscreen, BB/CC cream, and/or foundation) to prevent them from melting and to minimize shine. It also forms a velvety, matte canvas on which pigmented makeup like blushes and eye shadows can be blended.
This is a great finishing powder, goes on completely transparent and smooth, so no one can even tell you're wearing it. Best part--the brush and powder are built into one container, which makes it easy to carry in your purse or travel bag. Recommended!5
I have tried many, many different powders and have found the following: When a product description says that it is "translucent" this is not generally true. When It says that it provides flawless coverage, again, this is normally not true. So many times I have ended up with a powder that is just too dark for my pale skin or too shimmery so I look like I have oil all over my face. But this powder is 100% different. The texture is soft and fine and it goes on effortlessly either with a brush or pad and it truly is translucent. A miracle powder that manages to provide coverage without saturated color clashing with my skin tone or other make up colors. I will never have to buy an inferior powder ever again!5
I purchased this powder to go with my foundation I wanted to order. It is light. It doesn't cake. It lasts most of the day. I can't feel it on my face. I really like it!5
I've tried many other brands of finishing powders and loved this one. My T-zone is quite oily, and happy to say this powder held up pretty well (touched up about 8-9 hours later) against my overactive oily skin. A nice trick is to first apply with a fluffy brush then dab a bit of powder with a Beauty Blender--creates a pretty, soft finish.5
This powder will reduce shine but the smell is not delightful and the powder does show up white is you use too much.4
have used it. works fine. Glad its gluten free. For all those people who try to limit their gluten in there diets. You know how much face powder I use when I bake a cake or brownies for that matter. Now, I don't have to worry!4
This didn't really last the way I expected it too, and I have a coughing fit everytime I put it on. I feel like I get more on my floor than on my skin.3
Not sure if this does what I actually want it to do, does seem to minimize shine. Wish it lasted longer than it appears to, do not think I would buy it again.3
