This sleek zinc keychain could probably get by on looks alone, but don't be surprised if you find yourself touting its more practical charms. Besides doubling as a handy stylus for any touchscreen, the special clamping mechanism also connects sturdily and safely to the side of your smartphone to serve as a stand—so you can keep your hands free and your business in sight.
This product is garbage. First of all, it's rather long for a key chain, especially for a guy who likes a minimalist key ring.
Second of all, it's pointless for me. I keep my iPad in a thicker, beefier case, and the Quirky doesn't open up to receive it. It will fit my iPhone in its Lifeproof case, but I never watch media on my phone for long enough periods that I need to prop it up.
Thirdly, as a stylus, it is horribly inaccurate and cumbersome. I used it in a drawing app, and it only read 1/4-1/3 of the input.
Do not waste your money on this product. Totally not worth it.
Really nice as a phone stand, the little twist-clamp doesn't seem to be causing any problems on my phone or the little plastic screen cover I've got on. Looks nice but using as a keychain is questionable, at best. The key ring loop is held in place by the adjustable clamp where it would attach to your phone, so when you adjust the clamp out to use it releases completely from the key ring loop. People might want to detach it from their keys when using so in that case it works; however, it seems like it'd fall off my keys very easily if I'm actually using the product frequently and twist-adjusting it out and then back into place over the key ring loop every time. Odds are that with continued use I just won't twist it tight enough one day.4
Touch and feel of the product was fine, and the key ring, phone stand, and the pen function works nice. However, I was a little disappointed with the overall quality of the product. I could some white residue left from using super adhesive, and the plastic parts seems to be molded in low quality (small pieces of plastic sticking out).3
This product is pretty sleek as a kickstand for mobile devices, but it's use as a stylus is completely worthless. I've tried it a bit and it registers 1 out of every 4 attempts at touching the screen at best. The performance is a little better if you really press the thing hard onto the screen of an iPhone or iPad (the two devices I tried) but the effort hardly seems worth it if you have to take the extra second to press down for every tap and it makes it almost impossible to scroll. I've used $5 products from the drugstore that perform better. The keychain function is good in theory, but if you every unscrew the tip to adjust and make it a kickstand it leaves the ring open to falling off. This seems clunky. The ring should attach somewhere else and not be able to come undone every time you want to prop up a phone. Again, it's nice and compact for a stand, but other functions are not functional or thought out well.1
The product did not latch on to the side of my iPad strong enough to hold it up. I have a cover to my iPad and maybe that's why it didn't work. The use of it as a stylus is also of little use. I had press down harder on the glass to get a reaction. My fingers work better.2
I got this in my most recent box and it led me to cancel my Birchbox monthly membership. It didn't work on my iPhone and was super cheap-looking and feeling. I threw it away after trying it because I knew I'd never use it again.1
This is a simple and pretty cool device for your iPhone... I will definitely get a lot of use out of it.5
I got this in my October box and it was abysmal. I have an Android, and while unlocking my phone with it, it would lose contact (even though I pressing a little too hard) and didn't allow me to complete the pattern to unlock my phone. As far as the kickstand, the only way to apply it is by clamping it onto my screen since my phone is primarily a glass screen, like most phones, which I feel might damage it since it's just plain plastic, no padding. And the keyring falls off the moment you loosen the clamp. Whatever concept, horrendous execution.1
Useful as a stand but for the price you can get a cover with a built in stand and a cheaper touch pen. annoying that you can't have it attached to the phone.1
I like this, it's a convenient way to carry a stylus and it functions rather well as a stand.5
