We call it “la crème de la chrome.”
I love love love these eye shadows! The colors are great and have just enough shimmer. I have worn them alone and they are nice and subtle that way. I have layered them in a bunch of different ways ad that was fun! Used up the whole sample playing with them so I had to run out to Sephora to get some more!1
Tiny cheap sample. Coastal Scent shadows are a great for teens who are beginning with makeup. Sample given by Birchbox is what I receive from Coastal Scents with an purchase order. Phooey on Birchbox.1
So I received a four shade sample pallet of Coastal Scents eye shadow in my August box. It was labeled the "Perfect smokey Eye" but the colors were light blues, greys, and a gold metallic. Not exactly my idea of smokey, but no biggie.
My main objection with the product is the consistency. This shadow just didn't blend well. These colors usually look great on my skin tone and the samples themselves looked awesome but for some reason this CS eye shadow didn't translate in terms of vibrancy when applied to skin.
I got four tiny shades to try. They were very bright and I only used it once. The shades I got were too little girl pageant for me.2
I found these to just be so-so in terms of pigmentation, I like my Bare Minerals shadows much more! I also didn't' like the colors in my sample pack.2
I thought the texture and pigment was good, but I did NOT like the colors. They looked horrible on me.2
These are fun colors but I'm more for natural colors. If I am feeling like trying something new, I would use these colors.2
i got this in my box in august and unfortunately it was busted everywhere. i liked the neutral colors, however the turquoise and teal colors were a bit much for me.2
I loved this eyeshadow! I had the nude colors and I thought they looked great with my green eyes. However, I didn't see enough of a difference between this $34 product, and a much cheaper drugstore product to make it worth the cost. I probably wouldn't purchase this for myself.3
The colors are nice and I like the shimmer but the shadows are harder to get onto the brush. So far I absolutely love the mirage set and the colors go on the brush easier. I don't know if it's just because the matte colors are easier to pick up or what.3
