A shower isn't the only solution for flat or greasy hair. Hanz de Fuko's medium-hold product is one part styling wax, one part dry shampoo, using diatomaceous earth (a soft, pumice-like rock) to suck up excess oil while adding both volume and texture.
I have tried several different brands and this one is the best. Holds your hair in place without feeling like you have anything in it. I just slightly wet my hair and put a pea size amount of product in my palm. Hanz de Puko Quicksand works all day, I really enjoy this product.5
I have heard such great things about HDF. If you have longer straight hair that flows easy, this might work. But I have thick wavy hair that naturally is a little dry. This product is so hard to work through my hair. And it leaves it looking so dry and unhealthy. It literally feels gritty as you spread it. It's just not right if you have hair that is naturally dry. I will try other HDF products because this one just isn't right for my hair type3
I got this for my boyfriend to try out, and it ended up taking the both of us to figure out how to get his hair to do its normal 'do. It didn't have the hold we were thinking it would, and has a very odd, fine-grainy texture (which was expected). Now, it does mattify the hair significantly, and it didn't look all that oily (but his hair is shorter so it never looks truly dirty). It has a very, very mild fragrance that is so light it's a bit difficult to pinpoint; when I ordered it I couldn't find anyone who described the scent other than saying they enjoyed it, but to me I picked up what smelled just like peanut shells... odd, but at least it's barely noticeable.4
It's a good product but it makes my hair a little bit greasy. However, texture and hold are very well. I think it will be good for medium thick hair.3
This product smells great. It's a nice manly sent. It also has a great hold, feel and texture. It's not too greasy, or shiney which is a big plus.5
I am a fan of other products I've tried by Hanz De Fuko, however the quicksand is not one of them. It leaves a very dry and gritty texture with a matte finish as advertised. The biggest downside is the lack of hold. You have to use quite a bit to get your hair to stay in place.2
bought this for my boyfriend, he said it was super difficult to manipulate, it made his hair feel stuck. Had to return.2
This is exactly what I was looking for, Extremely high Volume, Extremely good hold, and it a perfect natural matte that does not look greasy. It looks like you have thing in your hair and it is not sticky at all. I reccomend this product to anyone looking for volume, hold, or matte. Its the best in all 3 categories.5
I've been searching for a product that would not make my hair greasy. Sometimes you just want to be able to lay down on a pillow without it leaving a residue. This product is great. No more stickiness and when you touch your hair it has a gritty feel to it, almost like dried hairspray. It keeps a good hold with no glossy sheen so it looks like you have nothing in your hair.5
This is my favorite hair product on the market and my go to. I use it after blow drying my hair and even sometimes i'll put it in my hair when wet and then blow dry it. Both times it gives a lot of volume and hold. Putting it in wet gives me more volume while putting it in dry gives volume and a cleaner look. I love the feel of the hair. You can't comb it after it sets but you can run your hands through it to reset if needed. I use it with the Hanz de Fuko shampoo and conditioner.5
