Sometimes, there’s no time to shower. And that’s okay, because not washing your hair every day can be a good thing for many guys. Still, we don’t recommend you go straight from your bed to the office without some grooming. Enter Hanz de Fuko Quicksand. This unique hair styler adds texture and hold with no shine, breathing new life into greasy slept-on hair. Because you should never really look as if you haven’t showered.
While this does a good job of taking out the grease and oil, my hair is short enough that I don't really have a lot of that to worry about. I thought it was an ok styling product, but not great - the hold isn't very strong. Finally, when my wife puts her fingers through my hair, this is the one product that she complains about. It adds a lot of grit that doesn't go away as the day goes on. Hanz de Fuko makes some great products - and I love Claymation - but this one just isn't for me...2
I am frequently hopping out of bed at the last minute and running off to work. Quicksand has been a much needed addition to my quick morning regimen. It adds quick volume and makes my bed head manageable and presentable in a snap. It is a tad too dry my taste but it does help get my hair under control and makes it feel clean and not at all oily. I would totally recommend this.5
This is a great solution to those looking for terrific hold or a great dry shampoo if you don't have time to wash your hair. It only takes a small amount for a terrific look.4
I love his product. I have an undercut hairstyle with hair reaching 5-6 inches up top that i comb backward and this product holds it all together great. The only recommendation I would have is that you need to put it into your hair in sections. It comes out of the tub easy and moist, but once you put it in your hair it immediately turns matte and sand teextured for a windblown look. I put this in three bursts, once in the back of my hair, once in the middle, then finish off with the front. Breaking it apart like that allow syou to get the most coverage before your hair starts to stick together.5
I love this product but it's definitely not for everyone. Makes hair very manageable by giving it a dirty, gritty, matted texture. Great for a slept-in/messy look.5
I'm loving all of the Hanz de Fuko products! Quicksand is a great hair styling product, but just wasn't suited for me. The product is gritty and makes your hair feel gritty as well. I tend to like a little shine in my product so it was my fault that I didn't read this has no shine. I gave the product to my best friend who loves it! He loves the feel and the natural look without the shine. I highly recommend all Hanz de Fuko products just make sure you read the descriptions carefully so you get what's right for you!4
Recently cut my hair short and this is a great product to achieve texture and some volume. Texture of the product itself is a bit odd but it works so can't complain.4
I bought this after getting Claymation from Hanz de Fuko and really liking it. This stuff is a little softer, more pliable and a little easier to apply. It really creates a lot of texture and really does work very well as both a styling product and dry shampoo. I got it hoping it would be quick and easy for the mornings when I'm running behind or don't want to shower (Saturday morning coffee run). It has a bit of a scent - it's a good scent and isn't really strong. I prefer no scent in my styling product but given that this fades quickly, I can live with it.4
This product has an unusual texture, but it works wonders.
A little bit goes a long way. Gives your hair texture and a matte finish. Leaves your hair looking "dirty", but stylish.
The pluses with this hair product is it has a pretty decent hold and a good matte finish. The drawback, however, is that it just feels too grainy. It really feels like sand is stuck in my hair and it gives a bad feel if you run your fingers through. I mixed it with a creamier product once and that helped, but not enough for me to recommend it.3
