A shower isn't the only solution for flat or greasy hair. Hanz de Fuko's medium-hold product is one part styling wax, one part dry shampoo, using diatomaceous earth (a soft, pumice-like rock) to suck up excess oil while adding both volume and texture.
I got this as a sample in a box and ended up buying the full size container. I like how it holds my hair and isn't greasy, too hard and easy to work with too. Great goo.4
Leaves my hair very dry and unhealthy looking. If your hair is very oily then this is for you, if not go with Claymation. My hair is similar to a crew cut. The good thing about this product is that just the smallest amount will last you all day. This tub will last half a year, if not longer.3
I got this in a box a while back and have been using it frequently, because the SMELL! So good... I love that it smells like the beach, but not in a fake coconut way. My girlfriend loves it for the dry shampoo properties, but i have medium to thin hair, and it ends up being a little too wispy. Still, great product.3
The description says it all. This is a unique styler with a ton of hold, texture and volume. It does have a bit of a gritty feel, and dries the hair enough that it won't feel soft to the touch. That lost it a star because having soft hair to run your hand through is important, and this product hinders that feel. I really like what I'm able to do with my hair when using it though, so it's a compromise. Not an everyday product, but definitely one to keep in the repertoire.4
This was my favorite gel when I have medium length hair! Now that I have shorter hair it doesn't work as well, but will definitely use when it grows out again.4
While this does a good job of taking out the grease and oil, my hair is short enough that I don't really have a lot of that to worry about. I thought it was an ok styling product, but not great - the hold isn't very strong. Finally, when my wife puts her fingers through my hair, this is the one product that she complains about. It adds a lot of grit that doesn't go away as the day goes on. Hanz de Fuko makes some great products - and I love Claymation - but this one just isn't for me...2
I am frequently hopping out of bed at the last minute and running off to work. Quicksand has been a much needed addition to my quick morning regimen. It adds quick volume and makes my bed head manageable and presentable in a snap. It is a tad too dry my taste but it does help get my hair under control and makes it feel clean and not at all oily. I would totally recommend this.5
This is a great solution to those looking for terrific hold or a great dry shampoo if you don't have time to wash your hair. It only takes a small amount for a terrific look.4
I love his product. I have an undercut hairstyle with hair reaching 5-6 inches up top that i comb backward and this product holds it all together great. The only recommendation I would have is that you need to put it into your hair in sections. It comes out of the tub easy and moist, but once you put it in your hair it immediately turns matte and sand teextured for a windblown look. I put this in three bursts, once in the back of my hair, once in the middle, then finish off with the front. Breaking it apart like that allow syou to get the most coverage before your hair starts to stick together.5
I love this product but it's definitely not for everyone. Makes hair very manageable by giving it a dirty, gritty, matted texture. Great for a slept-in/messy look.5
