The key to youthful skin isn’t a full-bore assault on your pores—it’s a cleansing regimen that nixes oil and impurities without leaving skin stripped or dry. Luckily, “gentle” is the name of the game with this skin-balancing cleanser from Paula’s Choice. The aloe-enriched formula creates a creamy lather to whisk away grease and prep skin for your go-to products.
I have very fair, oily, acne prone skin. I bought this cleanser after reading all the reviews on how much this cleanser helped other people with my skin type. After using it for a week I am overall very frustrated with this cleanser. My acne is even more out of control now then it has been at any other point in my entire life. On top of that, this cleanser has not gotten rid of any of the oil on my skin. My face is so oily now all of my makeup is either completely smudged or gone well before noon with all the oil my skin is creating. It may just be that this product is to strong for my skin or that I'm having a bad allergic reaction, either way I do not recommend this product and will be discontinuing my use of it immediately.1
I ordered this after loving the BPA sample I received in my September box. But it doesn't do anything, at least not for me.. Doesn't cleanse well. Definitely does not reduce oil. I've actually been breaking out a lot more since starting to use it.
Same goes for toner I also ordered from Paula's Choice. I've given them both a month to work, and no.
The only positive is the size of the bottle - it's absolutely huge.
Will not be ordering again from Paula's Choice.
I received a sample of this in the cleanser discovery kit and was not overly impressed. I have naturally oily skin and problems with blackheads in my T zone. This cleanser has a slight medicinal smell but not overpowering. It has a nice feel and lather, but I found that I had more breakouts when using this product, my blackheads looked more prominent and I felt more oily by the end of the day. Just not the right product for my skin type.3
Been using this product for a few years now and just received a new bottle in the mail to discover it went from 16oz to 8oz for the same price, I'm so sad :( will definitely be considering something else when I'm out, the value just isn't there like it was before.3
This is a very typical foaming cleanser, nothing too special about it. I am more impressed with her aha/bha products.3
This product is awesome and just as the description says, “gentle is the name of the game". It does not leave my skin dry or irritated.4
I've tried a lot of "gentle" cleansers that don't end up doing anything for my combo skin, but this has worked really well. I used to try and strip out all the oil and use a heavy moisturizer, but that would just make me oiler during the day, so I turned to this because I heard good things about Paula's Choice. My skin is much happier and I get less breakouts after using this.4
Face wash is great! I bought it months ago and thought it was a great product and worth the price, I reordered it last week and when it arrived realized it was now half the size for the same price. I though it was a mistake.. But it wasn't! Probably won't buy this again due to the cost and size ratio.4
I didn't meant to buy the cleanser, I wanted to get the toner and when this came I figured "what the heck...I'll try it" I really like it and would recommend to others. This doesn't dry my skin out at all and I feel squeaky clean after I get done using it.4
This is a great option for those looking for a gentle cleanser, but I was unable to replace my daily exfoliating face wash with this for that reason. That said, it's been a great product to add to my skincare regimen.4
