The key to youthful skin isn’t a full-bore assault on your pores—it’s a cleansing regimen that nixes oil and impurities without leaving skin stripped or dry. Luckily, “gentle” is the name of the game with this skin-balancing cleanser from Paula’s Choice. The aloe-enriched formula creates a creamy lather to whisk away grease and prep skin for your go-to products.
I have very fair, oily, acne prone skin. I bought this cleanser after reading all the reviews on how much this cleanser helped other people with my skin type. After using it for a week I am overall very frustrated with this cleanser. My acne is even more out of control now then it has been at any other point in my entire life. On top of that, this cleanser has not gotten rid of any of the oil on my skin. My face is so oily now all of my makeup is either completely smudged or gone well before noon with all the oil my skin is creating. It may just be that this product is to strong for my skin or that I'm having a bad allergic reaction, either way I do not recommend this product and will be discontinuing my use of it immediately.1
I ordered this after loving the BPA sample I received in my September box. But it doesn't do anything, at least not for me.. Doesn't cleanse well. Definitely does not reduce oil. I've actually been breaking out a lot more since starting to use it.
Same goes for toner I also ordered from Paula's Choice. I've given them both a month to work, and no.
The only positive is the size of the bottle - it's absolutely huge.
Will not be ordering again from Paula's Choice.
This is a very typical foaming cleanser, nothing too special about it. I am more impressed with her aha/bha products.3
This is a great option for those looking for a gentle cleanser, but I was unable to replace my daily exfoliating face wash with this for that reason. That said, it's been a great product to add to my skincare regimen.4
Just before my 26th birthday, I was having the worst acne outbreak of my life (and I thought this was supposed to stop happening by now! lol). So I bought this product and the rest of the skin balancing line. It really helped clear out the acne and I haven't had any major outbreaks since- though I've had a few small ones. However, the cleanser and the toners are all very drying. I went from washing my face twice a day to once a day and not using the toners and my skin has still been quite dry even in a humid Florida summer. So I'll keep this on hand for any future bad breakouts, but I can't use this product daily.4
Although I haven't been using this product for too long, it feels great on my skin and leaves it feeling clean and less oily. Hope it continues to keep my breakouts at a minimum!4
I did not expect the bottle to be as big as it is so this is really a great value! I liked that it didn't have any overpowering scent, washed off clean and didn't dry my face out.4
I really liked this cleanser and hoped to add it to my morning routine but unfortunately, after a short time using it I had some sort of reaction and broke out. The same thing happened with the SB toner, so I'm not sure if there's an ingredient in both that my skin doesn't like. However, it really did reduce the oil on my face and I love PC products as a whole. In fact, I use quite a few of them.4
This is nice cleanser with a frothy consistency, which I like a lot. The bottle is huge! You really get your money's worth from this.
It removes makeup really well, but it leaves me feeling a little dry. I would re-purchase this though.
I have been using this cleanser for about a month and I love it. With other cleansers, when I apply toner to my skin the cotton ball shows signs of leftover make up after I have cleansed. With Paula's Choice, the cleanser removes all traces of make up in a gentle way that does not irritate my skin.4
