We've been searching for a way to help us cover up our skin sins of the past. (Beet-red sunburns, were looking at you.) Consider our search over: This retinol-enhanced antiaging serum is backed by solid science. Not only do the clinically tested ingredients zap wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars, but they also fade redness for silky, zenned-out skin. This fragrance-free serum starts working immediately to clear up and smooth out your complexion. It releases a patented blend of retinol (stabilized for high performance), wrinkle-resisting antioxidants, and proven skin-soothers to help erase the effects of sun damage, poor lifestyle choices (ahem: tanning beds), and of course, Father Time.
Sometimes you read all the claims and you know you are going to be disappointed in a product but not this one.
I use this nightly on my middle aged skin and it does what it says it will do.
It is not goopy or greasy. I like the texture and my skin wakes up with a good start to the day.
I use this with a Hyaluronic acid serum and this combination kicks wrinkle-resisting butt.
I received this as one of my BB samples a while back and recently decided to try it out. I have dark, ugly, brown blotches on my face that I have been so self-conscious of for a very long time. Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum has been such a great product for me! The little lines I had on my face were filled in and those dreaded spots are fading to the point where now I can cover them with makeup (no concealer necessary). The texture of my skin is so much better as well. I will be purchasing the full size product very soon, as I am so happy with the sample. Thanks Birchbox and Paula's!5
If you don't know about Paula's Choice, you are missing out. Her story began when she took it upon herself to analyze and "grade" as many professional skin products as she possibly could and publish a book "Don't Go the the Cosmetics Counter Without Me!" I got it from my sister for a holiday gift. Paula was strict-she outlawed anything that came in a "jar", told you when a product was poorly packaged (like if it allowed sunlight to get through and destroy ingredients) and gave only those products that were both incredibly effective and accurately priced (not overpriced) her high ratings. I went through my products and threw half of them away. At some point, Paula threw up her hands and developed her own line, Paula's Choice. There are some incredible, affordable, amazing products in this line. The acne kit resurfaced my skin to the point that I get compliments and asked "what do you use" every week of my life. This particular product is one of the TOP of all tops. It had a packaging issue that has now been resolved. I love the way it feels on my face, and I feel a true, remarkable difference using it. I put it on my arm where I had scarring and it helped that too! I also love her BHA 2% gel. Like a salicylic toner that you don't swipe on, you glide on and it stays there, to kill any impending pimples. So many amazing products, this one being a personal favorite, you'll find yourself trying more than one, and it won't break the bank! Thanks Paula!5
Since I got my birchbox, I have taken to investigating all sorts of products and reading reviews, which I find so helpful. I was looking for a night time product. One that would make my skin soft, help with wrinkles and lighten the spots on my face. It's like a miracle. I have always had the worst skin. Now I get compliments all of the time. And when I wake up, my face feels so incredibly good. I cannot say too many good things about it.5
I am so excited to see Paula's Choice products on Birchbox. I am a researcher when it comes to beauty products; I like to know the details and whether or not a product can live up to its claims. I have depending on Paula's Choice to provide that research for me for years and I love PC products. This retinol serum (along with PC's 2% BHA liquid exfoliant) are 2 products I will never be without. I live in Arizona where sun damage is a major concern. This serum really does provide what my skin needs to repair itself (I use it at night after the exfoliant). I have never had a bad reaction to it. My dermatologist tried to sell me a nearly identical product for over $100. This is a bargain.5
I would consider using this in the future. It feels light and makes me feel like I am taking great care of my skin despite some of my poor choices (lack of sleep and too much time under the sun).4
I alternate with this and my 1% Retinol by PC and love how they don't dry out my skin even with all the Retinol! Have yet to find a product by PC that isn't top notch!5
I do not care for this serum. It has a thick and greasy texture that sits in a sticky layer on my face and does not absorb well even after rubbing for a long time. I have oily skin that already does not tolerate greasy products. Maybe this is a good product for its long term effects on wrinkles and fine lines but has no effect in the short term. My acne also got worse around the time I started using this. I will say that my acne is affected by a lot of different factors so I cannot blame it on this serum alone, but using it did not help it.2
Love this product! It doesn't dry my skin out and lasts longer than most serums I've used. I saw a noticeable difference after a few weeks of using this product.5
I love Paula's choice products and bought this product without having tried it before, solely based on the brand's reputation. I found the crows feet around my eyes fade and the lines in my forehead looked more filled in. This product did leave my skin a bit red as most retinol products can do. I suggest this product to anyone who wants to get rid of their fine lines!5
