We've been searching for a way to help us cover up our skin sins of the past. (Beet-red sunburns, were looking at you.) Consider our search over: This retinol-enhanced antiaging serum is backed by solid science. Not only do the clinically tested ingredients zap wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars, but they also fade redness for silky, zenned-out skin. This fragrance-free serum starts working immediately to clear up and smooth out your complexion. It releases a patented blend of retinol (stabilized for high performance), wrinkle-resisting antioxidants, and proven skin-soothers to help erase the effects of sun damage, poor lifestyle choices (ahem: tanning beds), and of course, Father Time.
I bought this serum because it seemed to be a dream come true: incredible ingredients (retinol, for anti-aging, reducing age spots, acne scars, redness, etc.), clinically tested, well-regarded brand, and, the BEST factor of all: you can use it on your eye area! It's non-irritating! It says so in the description and on the bottle! I don't have sensitive skin, have never had an issue with any product, and know/practice gentle eye-area dabbing. This is the first time in over 30 years that I have had a consistent reaction to a product. Not only is it irritating to the eye area, but that causes tears, which force me to gently tap a tissue on/around my eyes so often that I end up with dry eyes and tissue "dust"/particles on my lashes and eye area. That's the exact opposite of what using the product should do. It may be a home run for your face, a total grand slam in satisfying and delivering results on every other promise it makes, but if you want a product that you can use on your face, neck AND eye area, and it is a total fail for your eye area, then frankly, it's a total fail. You purchased it because it promised all three, and it doesn't deliver on that promise for all three.1
I received this sample and fell in love with it. My face feels so silky smooth after using it. The serum goes on easily and smoothly and is absorbed pretty quickly.4
This is a great product. Since I have been using it my skin tone has really evened out. If your skin tone is uneven or blotchy, this is the product to use5
I got this product in a bonus sample pack. I love it! One little squirt is all you need. In my mid thirties (ewwww) with three, yes three, little boys I need all the help I can get maintaining my youthful glow. Or just looking human some days. This one actually works!!!! I know this is sounding cheesy, but oh so true. I was actually excited to get a second sample in my next bonus sample pack, and who is ever excited to get a repeat sample?5
i like this and feel it's effective and does what it says it will do, but i would be wary of this if you are prone to breakouts at all - it's very thick and i am convinced clogs my pores sometimes. i stick to using this around my eyes and on frown lines instead, where i won't be so prone to clogs. if you don't have acne-prone skin i'd say go for it!4
I was a little apprehensive when first using this product. It feels greasy when you first put it on but it doesn't make your skin oily. At first I didn't see any obvious changes to my skin and out of laziness, I stopped using it for a few days. After which, I noticed my skin became duller. I started using it again and my skin glowed after a week of use. Just to experiment, I stopped applying it again for a few days and my skin became dull again. After repeating this "experiment" a third time, it became pretty obvious that my face loves this stuff. Whenever I use it continuously, it greatly improves my skin tone and removes any dullness. I also never get any acne when using it (I don't have a problem with acne but I do get the occasional pimple and whiteheads before using this.)
I can't say if it works for wrinkles at this point.
I really love this stuff. A tiny bit goes a long way. This stuff feels really amazing (though a little thick) when it comes out of the bottle, but my face always feels amazing the next morning. This is definitely on my list of "to buy" when my current stuff runs out!5
Have been using this product for a while but have not seen any noticeable difference in my skin. Got it to work on the brown spots on my face, but they are still there. Also extremely greasy, even if a small amount is used.2
I received a sample of Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle - Repair Retinol Serum as a bonus in December. I've used it several times since then (a little goes a long way). Instead of using this product at night, I apply it under a moisturizer before I put on any make-up. I really like the texture. I thought it would feel oily, but once applied it made my skin feel silky smooth.
I'm 46. so I do have age spots and some scars. I will continue to to use it until my sample is gone. I'd love to be able to amend my review especially if I find my spots and scars fading. I would definitely buy the full-sized product. I guess my money would have to do my talking.
As an aside, Birchbox samples have the best packaging! I've gotten items in pretty boxes, glass vials, spritzers...but so far this item has been the most fun. What looks like the cap twists to pop up the pump - very James Bond!
I was a bit apprehensive to use this product given
the oily yet silky texture ( I have super oily skin). I was
pleasantly surprised that it didn't make my skin oilier and
my face felt softer after use. I would recommend this product.
