Before we met this defining liner, thoughts that came to mind when we heard the word “velvet” usually involved triple Salchows and terrible fashion choices from the past (velvet chokers, anyone?). That was then, and this is a much more beautiful now. This pencil’s creamy formula glides on smoothly for a perfectly defined eye look. And it’s smudge resistant, so unlike fleeting fashion trends, this eyeliner’s not going anywhere.
Loved the color! But was a little of a challenge to apply to the top of my eyelids, did not apply smoothly.3
As a frequent "black eyeliner or bust" gal, I was at first hesitant to use this Jouer Eye Definer in chocolat. I wanted to highlight a more natural look that defined my blue eyes, so I gave it a shot and began using this pencil in place of my black liner. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this Jouer product lived up to exactly what was advertised. The pencil glides on in a very "velvet-y"way and provides just enough color to define my blue eyes without looking like I forgot to put on my makeup that day. The chocolat has a slight shimmer to it, but not in a glittery night-club kind of way. The liner stays on throughout the day, but often required re-application if I planned to wear it into the night. However, the color doesn't smudge or flake! I received mine as one of my first Birchbox products, so I'm (sadly) still working up the courage to spend the hefty price of $20 on a new pencil. But if you're good at justifying quality, I recommend it for any one looking for a new liner!4
Huge sample! Loved the color, consistency, size. Would purchase in a heartbeat. Best sample I have gotten thus far and am very happy with it5
It glides on in a metallic, beautiful color. I received it in a green color and my mother steals it all the time!4
I received this eyeliner in Chocolat in my very first birchbox almost a year ago. I haven't used it much as I didn't really think brown would work for me, but decided to give it another shot today and I love it! It's very smooth and easily sharpens. It's great for work as it isn't harsh like black; just a simple, soft line along my upper lashes and I'm good to go!5
Truly love anything Jouer, so I definitely had high hopes for the eye liner. When I got it and swatched it on my hand, the color was blotchy and uneven. On my eyes it was even worse! I couldn't get it black enough, and on my water line it wouldn't stay longer than 20 min. I love the line in general, but thos one; not so much.2
I got this in chocolat as a sample and wanted to try another color. This is dry and did NOT go on smooth at all. That's what I liked about the other. I was not happy with this at all.1
this is a soft pencil but the color is not that dark and it does not last. forgettable with all of the other options out there.3
This eyeliner is a softer consistency, but glides on smoothly and lasts all day! It can be easily removed with makeup remover. Great for a daytime eyeliner!4
The texture seemed really greasy to me. It applied well, but I spent all day worried that I had "liner ghosts" all over my lids. Not fun.2
