If your foundation is a superhero, then a great finishing powder like this has got to be the trusty sidekick. This lightweight powder, with a special blend of tapioca powder and natural fruit extracts, will set your foundation and leave a smooth, totally matte finish. The formula is never tested on animals and is free of parabens and other harmful ingredients—proof that you can do good and help people look good at the same time.
I debated between this and another brand. Both were supposed to be ingredient conscious products (I even looked up the individual ingredients). I bought the other brand first just because I wanted to try a brand I'd never tried. Oh, it was bad. Needless to say, I will be sticking with Juice Beauty. I love this Finishing Powder over my Juice Beauty CC Cream. It looks flawless, feels like I'm not wearing anything, and actually makes my skin feel good. Ya, makeup that makes your skin feel good! It sticks all day. I even wear this when I'm mowing the lawn, and I don't get breakouts or have it sweating off my face.5
I love the texture of this powder. it looks very natural and works to set foundation or tinted moisturizer, without giving a dry look to your makeup.5
I know we are supposed to take ahold of the truth that confidence should stem from within, but it is hard to walk out the door feeling like (very) blemished porcelain.
This product has gotten me through the door quite a few times. I struggle with forehead acne, and I find that using this powder in conjunction with my BB cream (Atomy, not sold here) gives pretty good coverage without covering EVERYTHING. I don't like to look like I actually have makeup on, so I like this.
There are two things: one is that this powder does have a tendency to get shiny and get a weird sheer after about 12 hours, which is too bad. It might just be me.
Second: experiment with the shades. With the complexion color of a typical East Asian female, I found that ivory was too light and although not too noticeable, it looks funny in certain lightings. I mix it with the sand and works much better.
It has a sheer coverage and although it is light is doesn't blend into your skin well and leaves a very chalky finish2
I have recently made the switch to all natural products and this was one of the first all-natural makeup brands I tried. I liked the light coverage a lot and I think it makes a perfect finish for hot summer days when you may get oily. The smell is a little weird, but over all I am a fan.4
This is good stuff, all around. The packaging is easy to use and attractive. The product is fine and natural and applies easily. I recommend a nice, big kabuki and to press it in, then spread a bit, otherwise you lose a lot in the application process as it flies around and catches the wind because it is so fine. This has a really lovely, light natural scent - which surprised me, so be aware of that if you are someone who avoids all fragrances. I am not sure if it's an added essential oil or fragrance or what, but there is definitely a light scent. I am 35 and use this over a light CC sunscreen, some Juice concealer, and that's about it.5
I really don't feel like this finishing powder sets your makeup at all. It just kind of sits on top and makes your skin feel super dry. I'm not sure what's going on with the formula, but this is seriously an inferior product. I wanted to love it because of the natural factor, but it just makes my skin feel really tight - something that I don't normally have issues with. The way it applies on is strange too - powdery but also kind of grainy at the same time. I just ended up feeling super disappointed.2
Reduces shine, very light. Perfect for minimal coverage.4
I LOVE this loose powder. I have extremely oily skin, and i wasn't sure i was going to like this stuff at first. It doesn't keep my skin 100% shine-free, at least not after an hour or so. But it DOES give a very long-lasting, natural looking matte, that I like a lot better for the natural, mori kei look I like.
I have one complaint only- when I went to open it, the tab that holds the cover over the holes ripped almost immediately. I barely tugged on the open tab, and the entire thing came off. It would have been nice if that was a little more secure, but it won't stop me from buying again.
The powder was nice and mild and the coverage was consistent but it did not provide a lot of coverage. It didn't layer as well as described so if you have very clear skin this is probably a fine product but if you have any rosacea or acne or the like it likely does not provide the coverage you need.3
