Call us skincare snobs, but we hold our products to a gold standard. Luckily, this pampering scrub meets our demands with none other than real 24-karat colloidal gold (which apparently does something to help stimulate cell turnover, but we just think it sounds cool). The result of using this luxe natural exfoliator is super-soft skin and, of course, bragging rights that even your beauty products are blingin’.
I ordered this one as a treat for myself before my wedding - it's got gold and champagne in it right? Unfortunately this product has the texture of a gel, and it left my bathtub kind of slick which wasn't awesome to deal with after we got back form our honeymoon. I love products with acai in them. I think it comes from the rainforest? This product did leave my skin feeling moisturized. It did smell kind of champangey sweet in a good way. This product is not particularly exfoliating, although I hold cheap Korean scrubby mitts from the Korean spa as my gold standard for exfoliating effectiveness (seriously, they are awesome, reusable and affordable) with salt scrubs coming in second. So I'm used to something that is a bit more scrubby than this. For the price, I'd maybe pick a different indulgence, like the incredibly awesome and indulgent WEI Golden Root Purifying Masks (also from Birchbox).2
This sugar polish was not one of my favorites. I'm not a big fan of sugar polishes to begin with but I felt like the sample size was not enough to give me a real feel for how this product would actually work. I felt like I needed more product to get a good scrub, and having so little felt kind of useless. At 35 dollars for a full jar you would need to pruchase it frequently and it's just not an investment I'm willing to make.2
I couldn't tell if there was a long-term change in my skin since it was just a sample size, but it wasn't too rough on my sensitive skin and I definitely felt softer after i used it.3
im alway down for a body scrub but this sample smelled funky to me. I figured I'd suck it up and use it anyway. I was impressed with the scrub part of it and how it moisturizes at the same time but I just could not roll with the smell. Some people liked it but it smelled like old oil to me lol3
This is an elegantly packaged scrub and I bought it based on customer reviews. I was looking for a scrub that was both invigorating and moisturizing, with an uplifting scent- well 2 out of 3 ain't bad. This scrub delivers in spades on the super scrubby moisturizing front but the smell is not so nice. I must admit that the packaging was a bit of a turn off as I like packaging that is modern & clean in appearance. Would probably make a great Mother's Day gift!4
This stuff as amazing! I was impressed on how soft my skin was after using this. The sample was tiny so I ended up buying this from Birchbox and it comes in a huge container. Love.Love.Love!5
Ordered this product and could never bring myself to use it- the smell was very unappealing. Unfortunately the smell was too much for me and I threw this product away. If you are looking for a fresh or light smelling scrub while in the shower- this is not it!1
When I bought this I was mostly looking for a body scrub, and after using this product I was disappointed. It was not the exfoliation I was hoping for, and I will not buy it again. On the positive side it does do an excellent job of moisturizing, and it has very invigorating scent.2
I use this after swimming, skiing, and whenever skin is stressed. Wonderful smell and feel, and restores and rehydrates stressed skin, reducing acne (surprisingly) as well as dry skin. The shea butter feels oily, but produces no longterm oily skin, rather seems to reduce skin's tendency to react to dryness.5
It left my skin really soft, but I felt like it moisturized more so exfoliated.3
