While not everyone can pull off the same shade of red, there is a shade for everyone. Instead of trying on lipsticks until you turn blue in the face, Jouer has narrowed it down to 5 tailor-made shades. Their Perfect Red Collection, combined with our beauty know-how, will help you discover the perfect hue for your coloring. So go ahead—consider this your green light to wear red. Each Hydrating Lipstick is packed with nourishing Brazilian Cupuaçu Butter, providing creamy coverage with major staying power. To find your perfect shade, match your skin tone (cool or warm) to your hair color (blonde, brunette, redhead, or black), and see which tube of Perfect Red belongs on your lips.
• If you’re a cool blonde, go for: Lana. This soft, cool red with blue undertones won’t make you look washed out (but will make you look gorgeous).
• If you’re a cool brunette or have black hair, go for: Simone. This bright, luscious crimson matches your intense coloring. If you prefer a lighter shade, you also look fab in Lana (lucky you).
• If you’re a warm blonde or redhead, go for: Grace. This cheery peony goes hand-in-hand with your sunny coloring. (Save Sophia—your other color match—for that all-important interview or candlelit dinner date.)
• If you’re a warm brunette or have black hair, go for: Sophia. This grownup terracotta shade is warmly alluring and ideal for darker locks.
• If you’re not sure, go for: Ava. This sassy hue can’t be tamed. With coral undertones, it highlights the best of both warm and cool tones.
First, I am a cool brunette. Lana looks spectacular one me. It shows up one me as a Rosy color, to me it is somewhere between red and pink, but definitely Rosy! If I used a red lip liner, instead of nude, it probably would have been more red.
Next, It lasted all day on me and my lips never felt dried out.
I think this is a color that could work for most people, it really is flattering.
Love the color - I bought Grace - but I ordered it once, returned it after it broke after 1 use, and now my new one broke too! Wish it were better quality.3
This lipstick had great reviews and I've been searching for a certain shade of red so simone seemed like it might be it. It wasn't. It looks darker in the picture and the description says "crimson" but it's more of a candy apple red. It's not orangy which is good but it wasn't the deep red I was looking for. It still looks pretty good with my skin tone and the formula is good so it's not a total waste but I feel a little cheated by the description and picture.4
The guidelines were super helpful for finding a shade of red that goes with my pale skin and dark hair. I've always worried about looking too clown like but the Simone shade is perfect and the lipstick itself goes on great. Happy!5
I purchased the shade "whitney" because I was looking for a pretty pink to wear on a daily basis. This is an unflattering hot pink that I'm suspecting only someone from the ages of 12 to 22 could pull off (and only at night)! Sending this back immediately. There is a "blue" undertone in it. I certainly would never pay this much for a trendy shade like this. Go buy a $3 Wet-n-Wild one!1
I have never been a lipstick person, always found them too drying or too much upkeep no matter what I tried. But now I think I finally found a winner!! I'm so glad I got this in the Mother's Day box, the Lola color is the perfect every day shade. It's very hydrating and lasts a long time, plus the color doesn't disappear right away either even when you drink. I need to buy more now!!5
I took a chance on this lipstick because the reviews were so great and I was not disappointed. I chose the color Ava because I wanted something bright and the description said it worked for both warm and cool tones. It sure does, plus it stays on well and it is moisturizing! I love it so much I might have to try another color next...5
Beautiful True Red lipstick. i LOVE a red lip. this is very Hydrating not drying. stays put. Goes on very smoothy. and the color stays nice and true/5
I've wanting the perfect red for my skin tone but it seems I'm either in the middle or confused. Thus I opted for Ava which is supposed to look good on everyone. While I like it, it's too orange for me to purchase again. I have a stain in this color already with the added benefit of not smudging. Overall great if you know your tone and don't mind lipsticks.4
I have always loved red lipstick but I have shied away from it because I don't wear a lot of other make-up, fearing that it would look silly all alone on my bare face. This breakdown of skin tone/hair color as a reference made sense for a fool proof way to pick the perfect red. I LOVE it! The color is fantastic!5
