While not everyone can pull off the same shade of red, there is a shade for everyone. Instead of trying on lipsticks until you turn blue in the face, Jouer has narrowed it down to 5 tailor-made shades. Their Perfect Red Collection, combined with our beauty know-how, will help you discover the perfect hue for your coloring. So go ahead—consider this your green light to wear red. Each Hydrating Lipstick is packed with nourishing Brazilian Cupuaçu Butter, providing creamy coverage with major staying power. To find your perfect shade, match your skin tone (cool or warm) to your hair color (blonde, brunette, redhead, or black), and see which tube of Perfect Red belongs on your lips.
• If you’re a cool blonde, go for: Lana. This soft, cool red with blue undertones won’t make you look washed out (but will make you look gorgeous).
• If you’re a cool brunette or have black hair, go for: Simone. This bright, luscious crimson matches your intense coloring. If you prefer a lighter shade, you also look fab in Lana (lucky you).
• If you’re a warm blonde or redhead save Sophia for that all-important interview or candlelit dinner date. • If you’re a warm brunette or have black hair, go for: Sophia. This grownup terracotta shade is warmly alluring and ideal for darker locks.
This lipstick is the first one I have bought in years that I am not looking for the next after one disappointing application. It is so beautiful and classic that I am excited about what my husband will think when he sees it later. It is highly pigmented and goes on with a bit of moisturizer. It is not a lot of moisturizer, though. If you're looking for a beautiful red, I highly recommend this. So glad I bought this.5
I have tried to wear red lipstick my whole life. Before discovering Jouer's reds through Birchbox, I'd buy a red, put it on at home, and wipe it off before leaving the house. It always looked garish. Not Jouer's reds. They really have discovered the key to making that perfect red for each woman. A cool dark blonde/brunette I buy Simone again and again. I wear it at work and at play -- it is sophisticated and never garish.5
If you're like me with pale skin tone, red lipstick makes you look paler. With this shade, there is no washout. It completed my skin tone perfectly & is a great shade for everyday use.5
This was a nice color for me and the formula went on smooth and creamy. A nice pop of color to brighten the neutrals I tend to wear as the weather cools.4
This lipstick IS the best. No question. It goes on smooth and wears like old fashioned, classy, 1950's pin-up lipstick. The color pops and you always get compliments! Buy it!5
First, I am a cool brunette. Lana looks spectacular one me. It shows up one me as a Rosy color, to me it is somewhere between red and pink, but definitely Rosy! If I used a red lip liner, instead of nude, it probably would have been more red.
Next, It lasted all day on me and my lips never felt dried out.
I think this is a color that could work for most people, it really is flattering.
Love the color - I bought Grace - but I ordered it once, returned it after it broke after 1 use, and now my new one broke too! Wish it were better quality.3
This lipstick had great reviews and I've been searching for a certain shade of red so simone seemed like it might be it. It wasn't. It looks darker in the picture and the description says "crimson" but it's more of a candy apple red. It's not orangy which is good but it wasn't the deep red I was looking for. It still looks pretty good with my skin tone and the formula is good so it's not a total waste but I feel a little cheated by the description and picture.4
The guidelines were super helpful for finding a shade of red that goes with my pale skin and dark hair. I've always worried about looking too clown like but the Simone shade is perfect and the lipstick itself goes on great. Happy!5
I purchased the shade "whitney" because I was looking for a pretty pink to wear on a daily basis. This is an unflattering hot pink that I'm suspecting only someone from the ages of 12 to 22 could pull off (and only at night)! Sending this back immediately. There is a "blue" undertone in it. I certainly would never pay this much for a trendy shade like this. Go buy a $3 Wet-n-Wild one!1
