Glossy lips are always in vogue, but matte finishes are very now—and this lipstick from feel-good beauty brand MAKE really makes an impression. Its velvety finish and intense pigmentation gives you an irresistibly gorgeous grin, whether you’re headed to the boardroom or the Boom Boom Room. So… which way to the party?
The Jakarta is much more purple and bright than it appears in the picture. The shape makes it difficult to apply and it doesn't last. Definitely not worth the high price.2
To be honest I have never been one to wear lipstick but I really like this because you can do different shades depending how much you apply. It is very moisturizing to my lips and seems to stay on really well. The price is fantastic!5
this is the first matte lipstick I've purchased. it's not as dark as I had hoped but it goes on smooth and has a nice texture.4
The brand offers great color options - both saturated and subtle nudes. The silky texture feels amazing on your lips and lasts. I was a little thrown off by the angular shape of the lipstick at first, but it actually works well for precision application. The Fire shade is fantastic for Fall.5
I love, love, love, this lipstick. It is a Matte that doesn't clump or become gritty. Perfect for a night out on the town!5
It is a really nice matte just like I like it!! Just make sure you don't put too much or it will clump.4
It blended perfectly with my copper brown skin. Made me look exotic :)
I like the smooth finish. A little pricey though.
Love this lipstick! I got the matte red and it is such a perfect shade of red. It is bright but has blue undertones so that your teeth do not look yellow.4
As far as I can tell, there is very little visible difference between the finish of the MAKE Matte Lipstick and the MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick. Both give a soft lip look without shimmer or gloss. However, the texture of the two options is significantly different. Where the Silk Cream is smoother, the Matte is thicker and less moist, but it gives a wonderful, buildable lip color. Because the matte texture clings to the lip and doesn't (by design) shine, you do need a good base texture on the lip. Make sure to exfoliate and moisturize to remove dead skin that might clump the color.
The colors are misleading in the pictures provided here. I own both the Jakarta, which is a deep, vampy burgundy with a lot of purple tint, and Tulipa Palermo, a very, very bright peachy pink with cool undertones. And, despite the color in the tube, which looks like an orangey tan, I've seen images of Tangerine on the lip, and they are similarly bright. Very bright.
I just received my Make- Jakarta(color) matte lipstick. I love the texture. The only down side it's a lot more brown side v.s. the deep wine color the picture and description leads you to believe. I suppose that is the problem with buying online.1
