We fell in love with Atelier Cologne’s Vanille Insensée Cologne Absolue at first sniff. Unlike most vanilla scents, this one is fresh, not sweet. Top notes of bright lime and coriander mingle with middle notes of jasmine and oak moss, while Madagascar vanilla and amber notes anchor the scent. Happily, the romantic fragrance lasts all day — we’re smitten and you will be too.
The hints of vanilla are pleasing. Then there is a sour clove-ness that just ruins it for me. I think it smells terrible overall. Kind of just gross.1
This perfume is not for me. I am not a fan of Vanilla and this is way too Vanilla and seemed like it has a powdery scent to it. I will not be purchasing this one, but, I would like to try other scents from this line.1
This was the worst smelling perfume I have ever smelled. It smelled like public bathroom freshener with vanilla added in. Not for Me!!1
The packaging was lovely, loved the storyline but the vanilla scent is way too strong. Reminds me of that awful late-90s vanilla lotion everybody wore. When I opened the vial I spilled a few drops on my desk and the smell is just so nauseatingly sweet. I generally prefer bright florals to warm vanilla scents anyways, but in the spirit of Birchbox I'll try anything once. Unfortunately this one is just too sweet smelling to even try.1
Fragrance samples are not my favorite and this one does not disappoint. It has a very intense vanilla/floral scent that keeps on going. If you like a vanilla/floral scent you will probably love this fragrance as only a small amount lasts for a long time. This perfume just isn't for me.1
I don't like getting fragrance samples because I wear the same thing all the time, but sometimes the samples I get are nice. This one really wasn't to my taste though, I find vanilla fragrances sickly and disgusting.1
Not a fan. This is definitely not a high price point sample. And, you can email the company directly to request a fragrance sample, anyway. So, this has little value.1
Sorry to leave such a negative comment. I usually love every sample I receive or at least give something a few tries before giving it my "yay" or "nay;" however, as soon as I opened the vial of Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée, I gagged and had to throw it away. I had to wash my hands and go to open air.
It is one of those very dry, sharp, piercing smells that sucks the air out of your throat. It is not at all pleasant.
Not a pleasant to wear. The fragrance does not have the vanilla, jasmine, or lime notes as stated in the box insert.1
This cologne is more for my mother. It was a bit strong for my liking. It did soften after an hour or so but the scent just wasn't for me.1
