We fell in love with Atelier Cologne’s Vanille Insensée Cologne Absolue at first sniff. Unlike most vanilla scents, this one is fresh, not sweet. Top notes of bright lime and coriander mingle with middle notes of jasmine and oak moss, while Madagascar vanilla and amber notes anchor the scent. Happily, the romantic fragrance lasts all day — we’re smitten and you will be too.
This is the second Atelier Cologne sample I've received since signing up for my Birchbox subscription. I really enjoyed this scent and am seriously considering buying a full size. I loved the post card that came with my sample- it reminded me of a picture from an I SPY book and I loved the nostalgic memories that brought back. While the base of the scent was mainly vanilla, I liked all of the subtle notes that kept it from getting too sweet or middle school girl status. I love that Atelier Cologne toys with the idea of a scent being both masculine and feminine and I think this scent does a great job of toeing that line.
In the future, I would definitely purchase this product, but the price is a little bit overwhelming. I think the longevity of wear and scent of this product make it totally worth it though.
The scent is nice if you like food based scents and it seems to be quite long lasting. I wear the same perfume and never change it though.4
Sometimes vanilla fragrances can be too strong and you end up smelling like a sugar cookie. This fragrance was light but still able to be recognized.4
I love vanilla and this perfume smelled so pretty and it lasted all day with just a couple dabs4
This scent is floral and light without being too much. It stays on for most of the night which is hard to find in a fragrance. This scent is perfect for a summer night on the porch as the sun sets!! Definitely worth buying!4
This fragrance was absolutly beautiful. I could smell the different notes and ingrediants as soon as I opened the bottle and then they became increasingly more complex after applying it to my wrist. It was very light with a floral citrus-y scent--the vanilla was delicate and demure. If you're looking for a new fragrance I'd say try this one. My only complaint was the tiny glass bottle it came in was very hard to open. I spilled it on myself everyime I opened it.5
This smells so sophisticated and wonderful, it didn't feel too old or too young. Wonderful.5
Not a fan of perfume samples but this smells pretty good but there's no way I'm paying that much for a bottle3
I loved the presentation of this sample. The scent was pretty, not my preferance, but very nice. Would be good for work or school.4
I'm a huge fan of Atelier's Orange perfume because of its pure, simple scent. This perfume has the same quality - it is a very clear, very pure vanilla scent. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of vanilla scents outside of cookies, so this one isn't for me - but if you love vanilla, this one is for you.5
