Each one of these meltable chocolate morsels is the culinary version of a happy pill. Sourced directly from farmers in Ecuador, the cocoa beans in this sweet treat are of the purest stripe. Melt one down for a brew so rich and delicious, it will haunt your dreams (in the most delectable way possible).
This sipping chocolate was rich and bitter, but most unsweetened dark chocolate is. I thought the instructions were unclear and or ridiculous; I couldn't imagine making a cup of hot chocolate with 4 tablespoons of milk...just why? So I took the entire package and melted it in a huge mug filled with 1% milk warmed in the microwave. The morsels do not melt well. I had to heat and stir several times...over 4 minutes in the microwave total. Once it was finally melted, it was too bitter for me to enjoy, so I added a tablespoon of sugar. I enjoyed it with the sugar. Would not buy this full-size product though I like the idea.3
These definitely didn't melt as instructed. I had to put the morsels in boiling water on the stove and slowly melt them and then add them to warm milk. Also, the direction of 19 g instead of a volume measurement was not very helpful. I ended up just guessing how much to put in since I don't have a kitchen scale. The sipping chocolate did taste good, but i don't know that it was worth all the trouble.3
I received this in the Home Sweet Homespun box and I was really looking forward to enjoying it on a cold night, but it was pretty terrible. It didn't melt consistently, it was almost more of a glaze then something you could actually drink, and it was incredibly bitter. There isn't even a little bit of sweetness in it. Definitely not for me.1
I liked the flavor of this but the chocolate pieces didn't melt properly so it was hard to drink. Its definitely a dark chocolate taste
I received this in my Home Sweet Homespun box. I was excited to try it, but when I did I was pretty disappointed. Even though my milk was hot, the chocolate didn't melt & the taste was too bitter for me.1
It was a little too bitter for both my fiancé and I's taste, so I had to add quite a bit of sugar. It was very filling, and I felt a little sick after one average sized mug. It's a nice sweet treat, but a little too heavy and a little bit too much work to get the chocolate to melt.3
As for my sister for Christmas since she's a chocoholic. Her face upon opening this present was priceless, but hearing her talk about how incredible it tasted made my day! I highly recommend this product to anyone who loves chocolate.4
I got this in the Home Sweet Homespun box, and I was pretty excited to try it! I lovelovelove chocolate so much, I was so excited. So I decided to make it one day and the chocolate wouldn't melt, even though my milk was fairly hot. When it cooled down a little, I tried it and I was so disappointed. For some reason, it slightly tasted like alcohol and old grapes. Needless to say, I won't be buying anymore of this, but I am glad I got to try it out. (the rest of the box is fantastic)1
I adore chocolate, so I was curious to try this. The chocolate did not melt well in my milk, which was almost boiling hot. It was also extremely bitter. I did not enjoy it at all, and I returned it and am waiting on my refund. It was terrible.1
Mmm, loved this stuff. Definitely not for someone who likes your regular Swiss Miss, but those who enjoy dark chocolate will love it. Honestly, I couldn't stop eating the chocolate morsels by themselves as I was waiting for my milk to heat up. I used more milk than called for so it wasn't quite so rich.5
