Rubiginosa sounds like a word we’d hear at a spelling bee, but it’s one we’re happy to add to our beauty vocabularies. The oil from these South African rose hips has healing properties that gently revive mature or damaged skin. The Huffington Post has even called it “the next coconut oil.” The name may be a tongue-twister, but that won’t stop us from adding this time-tested natural healer to our skincare arsenal.
I have researched so many facial products the past year because I'm hitting a certain age and my skin is starting to betray me! As odd as it seems to use oil on combination or problem skin -- trust me -- it works!! It helps the dry parts and heals the problem parts! My skin feels great!5
The rose hips oil wasn't pleasing to the smell but was pleasing to the touch. I have combination skin, being oily in the t-zone. This product left my face feeling nourished and balanced without feeling oily. I think this would be a good fit for all skin types. Will have to see how it works long term, to help with acne scarring.4
I cannot say enough good things about this. I have combination skin and was skeptical about putting an oil on my face.. and I has spending more than $15 on any product but Im so happy I bought this. with winter I started to get more dry patches than usual, I tried various moisturizers and nothing was working. My skin can be easily irritated especially around my eyes. This is a miracle worker for moisture. I even put it around my eyes since I haven't yet found a non-irritating eye cream. I didn't find it thick and it is oil so it does take longer to soak in but it actually does very nicely, especially if I use it at night. My skin is less oily looking or no more than what it would look like when I used moisturizers for oily skin. I did notice the smell the first 2 times I used it but it doesn't stick around and now i don't notice it at all. I actually prefer it because I hate putting products with fragrance on my face- worried about irritation and that it could be covering up less than good ingredients in the product. This is cool pressed and actually all natural, finally something that works without the chemicals!
I have mild rosacea, ive been using this about 3 weeks, although a haven't seen a large significant difference in the redness (at least not yet), It is helping a scar/blemish I have above my eye and my skin is very soft.
When I use this I do pin my hair back while it dries so that the oil doesn't get on my hair.
I ordered the Shea Terra Organics Rose Water and this Shea Terra Organics Lesotho Rose Hips Oil. The Rose Water is amazing and everything I wanted. When I tried the Rose Oil I was shocked at the smell. Awful! I am not sure of the products results as I will never apply this to my face because of the smell. Sadly, I will be returning this product.1
soft glowing skin as dewy as arose petal and smells as good as a rose too. Put on pressure points to have a natural perfume as well as a face product that you'll love!5
This has been recommended by my dermatologist as part of treatment for rosacea. I can't go without it now!!!!! Yes, the smell of pure roses is not what you would expect. But hidrates and heal my skin like no other. It goes right after the honey soap from the same brand and before my moisturizer and sun block. I reapply at night and learned to use in any dry patches on the body. Ordering another one right now.5
this oil is kind of thick. and bright orange. I used this at night instead of moisturizer, and it was VERY oily and I feel like it just sat on top of my skin instead of being absorbed. My skin did have a glow in the morning and looked moisturized, but the oil feels so unpleasant. I don't think I'm going to return it, but I won't buy it again either.3
I have been reading recently how rose hips oil is a great natural treatment for rosacea and at least for me, it's the greatest. I use two squirts of this with a dab of coconut oil (the best treatment I've found to reduce any non-rosacea blemishes) and now I have the best, clearest, non-blotchy skin of my life. Will use this forever.5
I purchased this along with the black soap and use them both every night. This oil is wonderful and makes my 44 year old skin feel great and does not make me break out in any way. I love scrubbing my face with the black soap and then following up with this oil. It doesn't smell great (a little like the giraffe exhibit at the zoo) but the rewards of using this in my very dry desert climate are too high to ignore. GREAT OIL for face and neck!5
I purchased this rose hip oil because I'd read that it was soothing for Rosacea. So far, the product seems to be offering moisture without aggravating my skin. It is not something that I wear under make-up since it an oil that takes a while to absorb. I have been using it for extra moisture at night. It also has a very soothing organic rose scent.4
