Rubiginosa sounds like a word we’d hear at a spelling bee, but it’s one we’re happy to add to our beauty vocabularies. The oil from these South African rose hips has healing properties that gently revive mature or damaged skin. The Huffington Post has even called it “the next coconut oil.” The name may be a tongue-twister, but that won’t stop us from adding this time-tested natural healer to our skincare arsenal.
this oil is kind of thick. and bright orange. I used this at night instead of moisturizer, and it was VERY oily and I feel like it just sat on top of my skin instead of being absorbed. My skin did have a glow in the morning and looked moisturized, but the oil feels so unpleasant. I don't think I'm going to return it, but I won't buy it again either.3
I have researched so many facial products the past year because I'm hitting a certain age and my skin is starting to betray me! As odd as it seems to use oil on combination or problem skin -- trust me -- it works!! It helps the dry parts and heals the problem parts! My skin feels great!5
The rose hips oil wasn't pleasing to the smell but was pleasing to the touch. I have combination skin, being oily in the t-zone. This product left my face feeling nourished and balanced without feeling oily. I think this would be a good fit for all skin types. Will have to see how it works long term, to help with acne scarring.4
I have been reading recently how rose hips oil is a great natural treatment for rosacea and at least for me, it's the greatest. I use two squirts of this with a dab of coconut oil (the best treatment I've found to reduce any non-rosacea blemishes) and now I have the best, clearest, non-blotchy skin of my life. Will use this forever.5
I purchased this along with the black soap and use them both every night. This oil is wonderful and makes my 44 year old skin feel great and does not make me break out in any way. I love scrubbing my face with the black soap and then following up with this oil. It doesn't smell great (a little like the giraffe exhibit at the zoo) but the rewards of using this in my very dry desert climate are too high to ignore. GREAT OIL for face and neck!5
I purchased this rose hip oil because I'd read that it was soothing for Rosacea. So far, the product seems to be offering moisture without aggravating my skin. It is not something that I wear under make-up since it an oil that takes a while to absorb. I have been using it for extra moisture at night. It also has a very soothing organic rose scent.4
