Sometimes it feels like we’ve tried everything under the sun to combat our stubborn acne. Ditch the harsh chemicals and battle breakouts in a whole new—and 100 percent natural—way. This spot-treatment mask contains five time-tested African healing ingredients to soothe and clear your complexion without the side effects of conventional acne products. Naturally, we like the sound of that.
This seems to really work as a great overall mask and also for spot treatment. It is not harsh or drying. However...be warned, it smells terrible and tastes even worse. Do not get this near your mouth!5
This mask works like I want a mask to work. It tingles, it tightens and leaves pores visibly smaller. Great for oily and combination skin. May be a little much for dry skin.4
I read reviews on a lot of masks sold on here before I decided on this one! In my search I was looking for one that was all natural and chemical free. There are other shea terra brands that are chemical free, but I went with this one because of the acne fighting properties of it's ingredients.
I have been using this mask for over a month. I always have breakouts on my chin. I will put this on at night and leave on my face all night for spot treatment. (I go to bed once it's dry and it stays in place all night) In the morning not only are any blemishes dramatically reduced in size, but former scars are less noticeable! This has been a great mask for spot treatment and clearing blemishes on your face.
For mixing... since it is powder, it's a huge plus in getting a bang for your buck but also a little tricky. I just put a tiny amount in a hairspray cap, use my finger to add water drop by drop until it is a soft paste, and apply to my face.
The scent... a couple of the reviews mentioned hating the smell. It has thyme and turmeric in it. It mostly smells like that...herbs! Also... it is a bit challenging to get off. I just use warm water and then a towel to help get it off easier.
I'm not sure how effective this mask was, but it did feel nice. Unfortunately mixing it together was a pain. I always either had too much water or too much powder. Exact measuring instructions would have been appreciated. Also, taking it off wasn't fun if I had any active spots on my face. When it dries, it clings. Generally I had to soak my face for a minute or so before attempting to remove it. Because of that, I am really only using it every now and then. I prefer my clay masks which are just much easier to use.3
This is easier to use than it seemed like it would be. I like the idea of using natural products for my skin4
This product was extremely effective after one use. Which, is definitely the point when it comes to combating acne. However, it was extremely difficult to remove! It left my face more than irritated for about an hour. It eventually calmed down and my skin was soft and extremely clean. It worked after just one use, but if you have sensitive skin (which I do not) I absolutely do not recommend this product.4
shocked at the negative review for this! I'm 21, and have always suffered from occassional pimples. Never any crazy acne but it seems my face always has one or two pimples....but not since using this stuff!
I use this mask all over my face about once a week, and I use it as a spot treatment overnight every time I get a pimple. The smell is pretty bad, but as it dries it gets less noticeable. It essentially smells like thyme. This reduces the size of my pimples and reduces the redness in a way that no other product has. It seriously gets rid of the small ones over night and has made the overall quality of my skin much better.
I would highly recommend this stuff for anyone with spots on there skin or even acne scaring as I've noticed an improvement with that! I also use shea terras black soap bar and liquid, as well as there moisturizers. Such a great organic brand!
I was excited to try the product since I suffer from acne. I didn't use it as a mask yet, just on my acne spots. I know different products work for different people, but I liked it for a spot reduction acne treatment. The only downside was the smell. I didn't think it was a pleasant smell, but to each his own.4
I was super hopeful to try this mask...I've been suffering from adult acne for years and was hoping that I would find a natural product to finally put a end to it but this isn't it. I've used it several times without any success. On to the next one.2
