Part dry shampoo and part texturizer, this ingenious spray both manages oil in unwashed hair and adds instant lift to clean, fresh strands. The result? A breezy, rough-and-tumble texture with a bit of hold to keep things in place—all without any parabens or scary chemicals.
I bought this on the suggestion of a beauty guru. This product really doesn't hold my hair in place any better than regular hair spray nor does it add much body. It comes out of the can so forcefully as well. The smell is not my favorite either. I am glad that I choose the travel size as I do not love this product and I definitely don't feel that it's worth the hype!!3
It has an odor. And it doesn't totally get rid of oily hair. There are other dry shampoos that work better. This is only good for a bit of extra volume that will last an hour or so.3
I think I was expecting to be able to run my hands through my hair after using this spray; I couldn't.
But I did get loads of volume, but not where I wanted it. Which was probably user error.
I have tried putting my hair up in a loose bun, then spraying around it, and that seemed to give hold and volume to my waves. I do think the smaller bottle was a good starting point to try it and I'm glad I made the purchase.
I like this texturizing spray, and it's definitely come in handy many times, but I really hate the price. The can you get is so little, it truly does not seem worth it. I'm already out and can't bring myself to buy more, it's just much too expensive.
If you don't mind the price, though, it's good stuff. It makes my hair a little tacky, but does a nice job of adding texture to otherwise flat locks.
This stuff has a cult following and I have heard about many celebs using this stuff regularly, so I was excited to join in. After using it a couple times, I realize my hair doesn't get oily enough to really NEED this product. If anything it makes my hair feel dryer and like I need a deep conditioner to get it back to normal. Again, I think this is due to my personal hair type and I wish it worked better for me, but unfortunately it's a no-go!3
I really wanted to like this. It's so expensive it must be amazing, I though. However, it's just okay and the smell is so strong I find it lingering about me during the day. Even though it's pretty effective, I don't use it for this reason. It also seems particularly hard to actually wash out of my hair the next day. Even with a clarifying shampoo I have flakes for days.3
This is a great volumizing and texturizing spray but it is not a replacement for a real dry shampoo. It smell really fresh and made my hair look finished but it isn't as powerful for blotting shininess like a real dry shampoo.3
I have tried multiple dry shampoos and this was not my favorite. The reviews looked great but I did not like it as much as the powder type dry shampoos.3
For me, this was more of a texturizer than a dry shampoo. Although it does help add more life to your hair on a day that you don't wash, I did notice that it didn't really take away the oily-look from my roots. I have thin hair that typically needs to be washed every day but I brought this on vacation to give it a try. It was fine, but I would have liked if it was more of a shampoo. The texturizing element of it definitely made my hair easier to style on the second day and made it feel nice and thick.3
i love oribe apres surf spray, so tried this too... but didn't love how it acted as a dry shampoo (didn't give enough volume). worked fine as a hair spray, i just prefer the apres surf spray.3
