When it comes to our body, we reach for a protein shake (preferably one with chocolate) for replenishment after a long run or marathon spinning class. When it comes to our hair, we treat our brittle, heat-damaged hair with this hair-strengthening shampoo. It employs keratin, a natural hair protein, to restore softness and bounce, while cleansing hair of oil, dirt, and other pollutants. Even better, this sulfate- and paraben-free formula is safe on color-treated hair.
This shampoo may have saved my formerly shiny, soft hair. After a bad perm left it strawlike and dull this is the only product I've had luck with. It's brought back shine and softness as well as smoothing out the poofy ends. It hasn't restored it completely from the dead but it has helped more than any conditioners or hair masks have. I have to lather twice before rinsing to really get my scalp clean but that's par for the course with sulfate-free shampoos. If you're looking for volume then this isn't the product for you, but if you need your locks restored then I'd recommend trying this first before paying for expensive salon treatments.5
I have thin frizzy hair that is considerably heat damaged. After a week of using this product I already see the difference! My hair is soft, it shines, and its getting some strength in it thanks to the protein!5
I got this, along with the color protecting conditioner, because the bottom 4" of my hair seemed to have given up on life and wouldn't hold color. My hair is abouth mid-back length and dyed a bright, coppery red. I was afraid i was going to have to cut it off (NOOOOOOOOO!!!!), but I wanted to give a more gentle shampoo a try before I did anything drastic. This shampoo smells lovely (it's very similar to Biolage in the smell which is a big plus) and it's definitely sulfate-free. I know this because it doesn't pull the red out of my hair and it doesn't really lather (I hate that about sulfate-free shampoos, but it's a trade I'm willing to make for healthy hair and color longevity). It conditions my hair enough that I think I could do without the conditioner if I hadn't done so much damage to the bottom before I started using it. It also doesn't cause my roots to get overly greasy after day 1 which is a problem I usually have with any shampoo that isn't volumizing or clarifying. Overall, I think I may have found a new favorite shampoo that doesn't break the bank.5
Paired with the attendant conditioner, this is definitely the best shampoo/conditioner set out there for hair which is:
If you're always buying things that say "moisture" or "restorative", then this is the haircare for you.
I've been searching for two years for the perfect shampoo/conditioner (my previous decade-long fave was discontinued), and this is it. My hair is shiny, manageable, and less fly-away than with anything else I've tried so far.
Plus, it's color safe AND perfectly okay if you've had a Keratin or Brazilian chemical treatment. So, there are plenty of options still open.
I would have given 4 stars had I liked the smell. It did make my hair super soft. So, if you can survive the smell for the next couple of hours after you wash your hair, go for it.3
I've used other sulfate free shampoos and this one takes the cake. it smells so good and leaves my hair super soft. i love it! i also bought the conditioners which i use. Great combo!5
All of the coloring and heat damage we do to our hair does not keep it strong.
This shampoo uses keratin, a natural hair protein to give softness back.
It cleanses hair of oil and dirt gently and effectively.
This sulfate/ paraben-free shampoo is very safe on color-treated hair.
You can use this daily with no worry of drying your hair out.
This shampoo is really good. It leaves my hair feeling light and bouncy and does a great job of cleaning. It also doesn't weigh down my hair like a lot of other shampoos because it doesn't over moisturize.5
I love this shampoo.. My hair is color treated and has been on the dry and brittle side lately but this shampoo has perked it right up! It leaves my hair tangle free and very, very soft.5
I had to add a pinch of baking soda every time I shampooed because otherwise, my hair would be lank and oily. (And I'm familiar with sulfate-free shampoos and how you sometimes have to use a little extra elbow grease to get clean.) The smell is pretty old-school, too.3
