Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
I got the Floating Rose color in a birchbox sample, and only the color didn't disappoint. I might not wear it every day, but the color is wearable for most days. There was a decent amount of the sample.
The texture and the applicator of the gloss was highly disappointing. The texture was sticky and goopy, and the weird plastic paddle applicator didn't help at all. The applicator made strings of the gloss so there was a mess to clean up.
This gloss is very shinny! Smells great, minty fresh. I received the hot pink color in my birch box and I love it! I just wish that it wasn't so sticky! Nothing worse than your hair getting stuck to your gloss.3
I am really glad I got this as a sample. The gloss itself has a good texture. Its not very heavy or grainy. It also did not dry out very fast. My problem was with the colors. There isn't a color I would want to use on a daily basis though3
Never seen/used a product with a paddle applicator. It was different but I like it! Easy to spread all over your lips with out creating a mess! Can't wait to try other colors.3
I know I would definitely not buy this lip gloss. The color I got was a little to bright for me but that wasn't really the issue. This gloss applies like paste... it is very sticky, kind of messy and thick. Strange really.1
I have the brightest pink (a fuscia color) - so, so bright - but sheer enough to get away with this at work or for a more casual event. Bright, colorful, and a fabulous shine. Another benefit? Not at all sticky. Goes on smooth with a fabulous plastic applicator - different from anything else I've ever seen - but so convenient.5
I got the flowering fuchsia color in my birchbox, and there are a few things worth mentioning about it. The applicator is just...weird. (Not that that is a deal breaker). I found this lip gloss to be very sticky. I also tend to not like very pink colors on my lips but the first time I tried it, I thought it looked pretty nice. After a second, (and third and fourth) application, I felt like it just got brighter! Not really for me. Gave it away.2
I've pretty much gone through two tubes of this lip gloss. Flowering Fuchsia is my favorite. I was kind of hesitant at first to use it because the color was so bold, but ended up loving it on me. It just pops and I get so many compliments. The one thing I love about this lip gloss is it does not get clumpy, I can trust not being by a mirror and it looking perfect, and staying for hours on. I would totally recommend this color and product to anyone.5
The applicator was just a joke; a plastic pad? When I pull the applicator out, it leaves a string of lip gloss from the tube to the applicator and is just waiting to make a mess somewhere. I liked the minty-ness to it, but it is a bit sticky for my liking. I would not purchase this.1
I really wish the lip gloss wasn't sticky, but it is. The sheer color is nice, and the refreshing minty feeling is something I like in a lip gloss, but my hopes were high for this one.3
