Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
The colour I got to try was great but the formula was way too sticky for me to even finish using the sample I was sent. Disappointing.1
If I don't have on any makeup, I will have this lipgloss on. It goes on so smooth and it makes your lips so kissable looking!
It is my new staple! Thank you Birchbox.
Super shiny, and I like the minty taste. Although the description says that it's not supposed to be sticky, it really actually is. I also thought that the applicator was kind of weird--just a little plastic thing that reminds me of a palate knife.4
Color was beautiful but the gloss smells kind of funky and is way too sticky and thick. Felt like I was putting nail enamel on my lips because it was so thick. When they say 'without goopy, sticky feeling' they don't mean it.2
I think if the color was stronger I might have appreciated this product more. It does have a nice soft feel on the lips but is very bland.3
I do not like sticky lip glosses and this one seems to be extra sticky. What bothers me more is that the applicator is not a brush but a single plastic faux brush. This made it harder to apply and gave a weird feeling.2
How funny that I wore this yesterday on a windy day, had a terrible time with getting my hair stuck to my lips, and I go to write a review and see "One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass." in the description.
So, yeah. Don't listen to that: it's sticky. The color is also very sheer and there seems to be no benefit to using this over a non-sticky, more-pigmented gloss. So no thanks, I'll pass.
Great, bright colors. But the texture is too sticky and plasticky. Probably wouldn't use this product again, unless I really loved a unique color.3
Love this gloss, and will buy when it runs out! The amount of shine is perfect, and it stays on longer than any lip gloss I've ever used. The color squares pictured above don't match up with the actual colors in the tube, though. I received Floating Rose, and it's a lot closer to the Splashing Scarlet square than the light pink depicted.5
I receieved the hot pink gloss in a monthly box. I loved the texture, look, and staying power of it but the color wasn't for me. I prefer a nude lip. I just wish that Birch Box showed the actual tubes of the different available colors. The colors boxes of choices just doesn't match up to the real product, which is what I feared. I ordered the caramel color hoping for a nude, but if came more of a peachy color. I do love the texture of this stuff though. It is SUPER high gloss, without being sticky, and though it obviously prints onto glasses when drinking, somehow it also stays beautiful and glossy on your lips as well. Great for nights out!3
