Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
I thought it was ironic that the description of this product was that sticky lip gloss is a beauty pet peeve and this lip gloss was so sticky! It stayed sticky for at least an hour or so and I thought that the color didn't pop. This reminded me of lip glosses that I used as a little girl when playing with makeup, not something a grown woman could wear.2
For starters, the color for sample on here for Floating Rose is WAY too light. It was a very vibrant pink, which is awesome, but not necessarily something I wear regularly. I did notice it wasn't tacky at all, which is awesome when looking for lip gloss!!! It didn't stay put all too long, but I feel like I have yet to find any lipgloss that does. I don't think I'll buy this, but we shall see.4
This stuff was goopy, and made my lips sticky hours later... so, I guess it stays well? I also really was off put by the applicator. Is that how the normal packages come? If so, I don't see how anyone would purchase that. It was a malleable flat plastic thing. I have no idea, but it was not helpful in the application of this stuff at all.1
I just sampled this gloss in my October monthly Birchbox and liked it. It had an interesting applicator that made it very unique, It honestly gave my standard lip gloss a good run for it's money!4
im purely a gloss user so i was happy to receive this sample. i like the color and easy application5
The color is VERY OFF. I got what looks like the fuscia but it says rose. The color is very bright. It looked very sticky as it was coming out of the tube, but it was OK on the lips. It didn't last very long.4
I will say, this lip gloss was not sticky like most glosses tend to be. The texture is definitely smoother than most, which I appreciate, but it still doesn't really do it for me. I can feel it sitting on my lips, and that is still something I don't care for. I don't like the applicator tip personally, but I can see what they were trying to do with it. I didn't really think it made much of a difference for precision, but I am lucky to have very naturally full and plump lips, so I tend to like a bit of a larger applicator anyway. Someone with thin lips would benefit from this applicator. I did love the color. I am not a big fan of high shine and glossy lips, I'm more of a matte kind of woman, but this color is great and works really well for me. I will use this, and for those that like the glossy like, I absolutely recommend this one....I simply don't care for gloss so wouldn't purchase it for myself.2
The gloss was very sticky, I didn't care for it. Also, the paddle applicator doesn't really make it easy to apply.1
I loved the actual lip gloss, but I received the bright pink color, which I will rarely wear. Birchbox seems to only send me bright pinks and reds despite asking for natural colors. Ahh, well. Anyways...the gloss itself goes on very smooth and lasts a long time. I just wish they had given me a different color!5
This is a very pretty gloss. I love the packaging and you wouldn't expect it to have a little applicator, but it is so much nicer this way. The color is pretty and the gold shimmer is nice and not too much. The smell is a bit minty, dont love that but if you like mint flavored glosses then you will like this. Its not overpowering or too strong, just a light fragrance.4
