Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
I loved everything about POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer, including the great hint of color, sheen, and the tingly feel. I wasn't crazy about the applicator (small rectangular piece of plastic), but I understand the functionality rationale behind it.5
I got this as a sample in my box this month. I am not particularly impressed. This gloss is sticky, and very pink, not really my shade. I typically wear more natural colored chapstick, and avoid sticky glosses. Nice product, but for someone else.3
I received this gloss in my birchbox. I usually rather wear stains instead of sticky gloss but the color was flattering. If I'm wearing my hair up I would use this gloss2
I got this product in October's box and when I first saw it I thought, "sweet! more lip gloss." however, upon opening the lipgloss it was super sticky and I didn't like the pull out applicator it was stringy and thick.
BUT when I put the product on, I could feel the lip plumper working its magic. I wasn't thrilled about the color but it isn't totally bad. Overall I give this product about a 3. There were good things and bad things.
It went on a little bit sticky, but man does this stuff have staying power! It's really moisturizing as well, and I have the most chronically dry lips ever!4
I won't lie, this was not my favorite lip gloss. I received "Floating Rose" and it was a too sparkly, an awkward amount of pigmentation, and the applicator was, well, just weird. I've had time to test out many lipglosses and this did nothing for me.3
I love this glosses color! I received floating rose and it was a perfect match. My only complaint would be the applicator, but other than that it is a great gloss for the price.5
I've received a Pop Beauty product (namely the horrid Pouty Pop Crayon) before and didn't really have much hope for this Aqua Lacquer gloss but I am very pleasantly surprised by it! Received in Flowering Fuchsia, what appears day-glo pink in the tube is actually a sheer and quite pretty pink on the lips. I was most impressed with the fact that the gloss was uber shiny but didn't feel tacky on the lips. As well, the paddle-like applicator made the gloss easy to apply. Am thankful I received this product because it changed my opinion of Pop Beauty -- for the better!4
Yuck! This stuff literally smells like nail polish! I had to double check the tube to make sure because it even felt weird on my lips.
This one went straight to the trash.
I got this in the Floating Rose color. I liked the color, applicator, and loved the smell . Everything was looking good but it was to sticky and left my lips dry. I did reapply it using the hydration lock Chap Stick that we also got as a base coat, and I like it better after doing that.3
