Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
It went on a little bit sticky, but man does this stuff have staying power! It's really moisturizing as well, and I have the most chronically dry lips ever!4
I won't lie, this was not my favorite lip gloss. I received "Floating Rose" and it was a too sparkly, an awkward amount of pigmentation, and the applicator was, well, just weird. I've had time to test out many lipglosses and this did nothing for me.3
I love this glosses color! I received floating rose and it was a perfect match. My only complaint would be the applicator, but other than that it is a great gloss for the price.5
I've received a Pop Beauty product (namely the horrid Pouty Pop Crayon) before and didn't really have much hope for this Aqua Lacquer gloss but I am very pleasantly surprised by it! Received in Flowering Fuchsia, what appears day-glo pink in the tube is actually a sheer and quite pretty pink on the lips. I was most impressed with the fact that the gloss was uber shiny but didn't feel tacky on the lips. As well, the paddle-like applicator made the gloss easy to apply. Am thankful I received this product because it changed my opinion of Pop Beauty -- for the better!4
Yuck! This stuff literally smells like nail polish! I had to double check the tube to make sure because it even felt weird on my lips.
This one went straight to the trash.
I got this in the Floating Rose color. I liked the color, applicator, and loved the smell . Everything was looking good but it was to sticky and left my lips dry. I did reapply it using the hydration lock Chap Stick that we also got as a base coat, and I like it better after doing that.3
I received the Floating Rose shade in my Birchbox, and it is much more of a cherry color than it appears on the website. The gloss is has that peppermint smell and taste that I really like in a lip gloss. It is very goopy and a bit too glossy and glittery for my tastes. The plastic applicator wasn't my favorite either - it just sort of helps you smear the gloss on, but not better than an average brush would.4
This is perfect for a slash of color on a casual day.3
I received this with October's box in "Floating Rose". My tastes in lip products have changed over the years, and I find myself staying away from sticky lip glosses more than I used to. Maybe it's because my hair always winds up gooped to my lips... If you like glosses though, it's a great little product. The color was a nice, warm rosy tone, and went great with my skin without being too overpowering. The shine was GREAT (read again, amazing!), and the applicator was a nice touch. It did have a nice, plumping tingle, and a mildly minty smell/flavor. For me, it would be good for when I throw my hair in a ponytail and need a pop of shine to balance out more natural makeup.4
I love that it has an applicator instead of just having to squeeze it on your lips. But that's about all I like about this item unfortunately. I received a bright pink color and it is too bold for me. I also did not find that the color/product stayed on my lips very long. All around I just did not like this very much.1
