Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
I like this gloss very much, though there are a few things I'd change if I could. The applicator is a bit awkward - I'd rather a brush or squeeze applicator, but this is very minor. Once on, the gloss is very nice - it's seriously shiny, has a strong pop of color, a nice hint of mint & tingle, and the stuff really has staying power. I wish Birchbox had sent me a color that wasn't so bright, but that's nothing against the product itself. I'm considering buying this in another shade.4
Love the shade. It comes on much more neutral than I expected from the bright color in the packaging. Isn't sticky at all, but gives a great shine!5
I received the flowering fuchsia shade in my October Birchbox and I'm pleased to say it is exactly the shade I would have chosen for myself! My skintone lends itself to warm shades like peaches and corals, and this is definitely close to that family. The color reminds me of a watermelon flavored hard candy. I don't usually wear a whole lot of makeup, so it would probably be too intense for me if it weren't sheer. The fact that it is means the color and intensity can be customized easily to fit different occasions, which I like. I usually don't wear lip glosses, partially because of the wind/hair in face problem, and partially because I find them a bit flashy sometimes. I like that this is supposed to be less of a problem with the wind thing, though I haven't tested this. It did feel less sticky than some, though. As for flashiness, I wouldn't wear it heavily applied for work, but I can't say it wouldn't be appropriate for sure--just not my style. Lightly applied or even blotted with a tissue, I think it's sweet and subtle enough for any occasion.4
I had always been curious about Pop, so I'm glad I was finally able try it. I got Floating Rose, which is (thankfully) much brighter than it looks online. I personally, like the paddle applicator, it made getting a precise line around the lip much easier.4
I don't see why anyone would want to wear gloss, its just messy. I tried it to see if it plumps and just how it will look on me. Pretty color, i feel it tingling my lips so i guess thats its way of plumping. Ill give to a friend =)2
Love lipgloss , I liked the color (floating rose) but I don't like how it is sticky4
I'm not big on glosses/lipstick, anything other than Chapstick on a daily basis. My lips tend to get dry fast no matter the time of year, and I don't like the tacky feeling that comes with most glosses. I tried this though, and was pleasantly surprised. I received the Flowering Fuchsia in my box, and it was a pretty and bright pink. Just a little went a long way, it made my lips feel soft and moisturized, and it was just the right amount of tint. It wasn't tacky or heavy at all. A little tingly, which was nice...my lips definitely felt a little plumper and the sensation wasn't overwhelming like some others. Since I don't use gloss often, I'm sure it will take me a long time to go through my sample, but if I wore it more often, I'm sure I'd purchase when I ran out.4
I received the floating rose sample. It's a nice sheer pink shade, not too bright or dark. The applicator is very unique, like a wand. Like the smell too.4
I'm not a big lip gloss wearer to begin with, but this one seems ordinary for the high end price3
This lip gloss went on very easy. its a beautiful color. i like the texture of this gloss and i love the applicator. i was happy to try something from pop beauty and will be purchasing more products in the future from this company :)4
