Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
Floating Rose looks much more subdued online, it's a brighter rose-red, flecked with little pieces of gold glitter. The flat applicator is a little weird - I don't know if it really does anything to improve application. The gloss has staying power comparable to Nars lip glosses (i.e. not long), and is semi-sheer. The mint/tingly sensation you get from wearing it is pleasant. Overall, I wouldn't pay $14 for a lip gloss that seems like it's essentially a teeny-bopper accessory.3
I was a little shocked at the color when I opened my BB today, as the color has WAY more of a red/pink hue to it than the image shows and I never would have purchased it if I saw it in a store, but after putting it on and seeing how sheer it was I fell in love! The application is easy and it feels great on my lips!5
The color I received was a dark pink, almost red. When I put it on, I wasn't expecting it to be so light and sheer. It's perfect for a hint of color even when not wearing the rest of your makeup. It will be perfect for summer when you just want to wear a tinted moisturizer and a touch of color on your lips.5
It went on so natural so this is perfect for everyday wear. It smelled minty which I liked.4
Pros: minty, glossy
Cons: I favor applicators or tubes with tapered lipstick-like ends for easy application, quite sheer, don't really favor any stickiness
Suggestions: gloss should be more pigmented, or offer tinted lip balm/ lip stain with balm for everyday, work-appropriate wear
It's a nice product, but there are a ton of the same item out there for much cheaper than $14. The color (Floating Rose) was very pretty. I initially thought it was going to be glitter filled and bubblegum pink, but it went on rather tamed in color.4
I really liked this product. Went on glossy, and did not feel sticky. My hair also didn't stick to it! The only weird thing was the applicator- it was like a spatula which was odd. Overall though I loved it and will buy once mine runs out!4
I like the color, but I'd rather have a lip balm or a stain rather than a lip gloss.3
The floating rose color came in my box this month. The only downside to this product is that it's a bit sticky and thick, which is my general complaint about lip glosses as a whole. However, the applicator is awesome and I love the color as well as the tingly feeling it gives on my lips. I will probably be buying this color! It goes on as a watermelon-colored pink, definitely not bright red as it appears in the tube.4
I am normally not a fan of lip gloss. I just don't like shiny lips. That being said, this lipgloss is tingly and has a great color. I don't even mind the shine! I just don' t enjoy that mushy, sticky feeling.3
