Sticky lip gloss is high up on our list of beauty pet peeves, right next to cakey concealer and smudgy mascara. One gust of wind, and your hair is stuck all over your lips. No thanks, we’ll pass. We’ve become pretty picky about lip products, and these superlight, refreshing glosses make the cut. Created by the color pros at POP Beauty, they add a wash of sheer color and a high dose of shine, without that goopy, sticky feeling we all know too well.
I got the floating rose and when I saw the color I thought "not for me", but I was wrong. I love the color on me. The brush is a little strange but it works great. I would love to try the other colors. I am very happy.5
I liked the consistency of the gloss; however, I did not like the color. It was way too bright for me.4
I received this gloss in Flowering Fuchsia, and I couldn't be happier with the product, despite the fact that I rarely wear gloss. This color is a bright pink, which goes on sheer, yet has a nice depth of pigment. The applicator paddle is a definite improvement on sticky brushes, and it smells absolutely divine - like peppermint.5
I like the color of the this gloss that I got (Floating Rose) but it feels so sticky to me! I'm not a big lipstick/lip gloss wearer, but I am trying to try more out and experiment (hence, Birchbox!) but this wouldn't be one that I would purchase.3
I loved the way it was sort of minty, and the color was great and lasted quite a long time. What I didn't like was that it was super sticky, and the applicator made it hard to apply.3
I thought that the applicator was a little awkward. It would have been nice if it were a little softer. I expected the gloss to be a little gummy but it wasn't at all. The texture made it seem like it would be. After applying it the consistency was really nice.4
I received the Floating Rose in my BirchBox. It is actually a more red than rose-pink so ignore the image online. It's actually a great, sheer color on the lips with lovely pink hues in it. Good to go day or night.
Fresh, minty or tingly feeling. Long lasting. Very thick and glossy.
The only complaint is that the wand can get messy when you're pulling it out of the tube, so be careful.
This is a great light pink and glossy lip product that has staying power! It is a bit sticky, as most glosses are, but well worth it! It added a nice plump and sheen to my lips that was perfect to wear during the day. It looks cute and very feminine.5
Floating Rose looks much more subdued online, it's a brighter rose-red, flecked with little pieces of gold glitter. The flat applicator is a little weird - I don't know if it really does anything to improve application. The gloss has staying power comparable to Nars lip glosses (i.e. not long), and is semi-sheer. The mint/tingly sensation you get from wearing it is pleasant. Overall, I wouldn't pay $14 for a lip gloss that seems like it's essentially a teeny-bopper accessory.3
I was a little shocked at the color when I opened my BB today, as the color has WAY more of a red/pink hue to it than the image shows and I never would have purchased it if I saw it in a store, but after putting it on and seeing how sheer it was I fell in love! The application is easy and it feels great on my lips!5
