Fun fact about fashion designer Cynthia Rowley: For years, whenever she wanted to wear bold eyeliner, she had to resort to using a Sharpie on her lids. Luckily, the style whiz has created an easier and far safer alternative: this smudgeproof liquid liner. The pen-style tip makes for ultraprecise application, whether you're stippling your bottom lash line or flicking to create the perfect cat eye. The resulting laser-like inky line is totally smudgeproof. And the signature gold motif will ensure that it never gets lost in your (seemingly bottomless) makeup bag.
This felt tip dries out as you use it. I feel this product needs better mechanics.3
Seeing as how I always have used a liquid eye liner, I'm am very excited for this one. It's different than my usual type of eyeliner, and I love trying new ones. I'm very excited about this being in my Birchbox this month!5
I don't really need liquid eyeliner bc i'm happy with my MAC pencil, but it works well and i like to use it for certain occasions.5
I really hate most liquid eyeliners. I usually end up drawing a line that has little to no relationship to the shape of my eye, then having to wash it off and redraw a few times. This eyeliner was easier to use than most I've tried. It's a felt tip pen format, rather than the ink pot with the little brush. I was able to draw a moderately shaky line that made my husband say, "is that eyeliner?" rather than the "good God, what's happened to you?" that I usually get when I try to use eyeliner. I left the eyeliner on for a while and it didn't irritate my eyes, which happens with almost every eyeliner or mascara I try, so I think this would be good if you have sensitive skin. I think if I keep practicing, I might be able to apply it convincingly enough that I could leave the house in it. Of course, this makes a big black line, so it's not a subtle enough look for me to wear to work or on a regular basis. It might be OK for a special occasion, though.2
This eyeliner definitely makes your eyes pop! Nice fine or thick lines. Whichever one you prefer depending on your style or that special occasion. ;) The only downer is that it doesn't stay very well. :( I definitely would no buy this specific product from Cynthia Rowley Beauty line. Especially for $18!!!3
I currently use the Stila eyeliner, and this liner reminds me of it. It is a good sharp line with precise application. Perfect for a cat eye- and easy touch ups.4
I didn't really care for this product. I mainly use pencil eyeliners, which I have much control over and glide on smoothly. This one was more of a marker and was not the easiest to apply. Most of my friends use liquid eyeliners, so I thought I would give this type a shot. It made a really thin line, but did not go on smooth. I think I will stick with my pencil eyeliner.3
I previously got a free sample of this eyeliner when I signed up for my subscription. I've used that one a few times, but I prefer using eye shadow with a brush as eyeliner. It's a nice dark black liner and the applicator is easy to use, but I don't care for liquid liners and I'm planning on giving this new eyeliner away.3
I'm a tough eyeliner critic. My daily go-to is some variation of a cat eye, so I need a liner that lasts all day, stays bold and black, doesn't end up under my eyes, and goes on smooth. My usual purchase is a revlon liquid liner in the drugstores for $8...that works 100x better than this liner. I've never used this brand before, and I am regretting the purchase. *sigh* Into the back-up/emergency makeup bag it goes.2
I was excited to see a full sized eyeliner in my box this month. This is a great product that works really well! I was pleased with the brush and how smoothly it applied the liner to my eyes. I'm glad I have a great new eyeliner!4
