There’s nothing more iconic in movie history than Dorothy’s ruby slippers. Inspired by those legendary shoes, this deep red polish is packed with two sizes of red hexagonal glitter that really sparkle when they catch the light. And the jelly-like texture applies smoothly and evenly—no wizard required.
also a beautiful color but cant be used well as a stand alone polish must have a base coat first, I really do love it though and have purchased 2 bottles, long lasting product worth the money4
Absolutely love this color! It's a beautiful red glittering polish. Looks great on an accent nail or on your moons or tips over another red. Love, love, love!5
Wow, the name says it all! This gives a finish like Dorothy's little red slippers in the "Wizard of Oz," and, honey, you aren't in Kansas anymore when you wear this color. Goes on well, covers well; I can't say that for a lot of cheaper glitter polishes. Some glitter polishes are very thick to begin with, some thicken quickly over their shelf life. I don't think this one is going to be one of those. Somewhat pricey for a polish, but, in my experience, you get what you pay for.5
And I do! This is the most beautiful nail polish. I used a black base and got opacity in two coats. It was quick drying and I thought it went on much easier than glitter polish I have used by other manufacturers. This is my first Deborah Lippmann but it won't be my last. Another thing I like is I feel like I'm wearing a sexy, glamorous, mature polish. Love!5
Sometimes when I have purchased her nail polish I have not been happy but this one is pretty good and so sparkley5
The description of this product is "Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers" which made me think of a rich red glitter. Which is what this polish looks like---in the bottle. However, once applied, you realize the red glitter is suspended in black polish! It's definitely more Halloween/Queen of the Dead colored that holiday party appropriate. As far as the polish goes, it also requires 4-5 coats to cover, and takes a long time to dry. I'm really bummed! I was looking forward to wearing this now that Christmas is near, but unfortunately I'll be returning it.2
