There’s nothing more iconic in movie history than Dorothy’s ruby slippers. Inspired by those legendary shoes, this deep red polish is packed with two sizes of red hexagonal glitter that really sparkle when they catch the light. And the jelly-like texture applies smoothly and evenly—no wizard required.
Absolutely love this color! It's a beautiful red glittering polish. Looks great on an accent nail or on your moons or tips over another red. Love, love, love!5
Wow, the name says it all! This gives a finish like Dorothy's little red slippers in the "Wizard of Oz," and, honey, you aren't in Kansas anymore when you wear this color. Goes on well, covers well; I can't say that for a lot of cheaper glitter polishes. Some glitter polishes are very thick to begin with, some thicken quickly over their shelf life. I don't think this one is going to be one of those. Somewhat pricey for a polish, but, in my experience, you get what you pay for.5
And I do! This is the most beautiful nail polish. I used a black base and got opacity in two coats. It was quick drying and I thought it went on much easier than glitter polish I have used by other manufacturers. This is my first Deborah Lippmann but it won't be my last. Another thing I like is I feel like I'm wearing a sexy, glamorous, mature polish. Love!5
Sometimes when I have purchased her nail polish I have not been happy but this one is pretty good and so sparkley5
Love the multi-sized "sequins". It applied easily & dries just as fast as this line's regular polish. It's exceptionally festive. I would recommend a light clear coat be reapplied on the 3rd day or so though.4
also a beautiful color but cant be used well as a stand alone polish must have a base coat first, I really do love it though and have purchased 2 bottles, long lasting product worth the money4
I'm really into how this looks at a glance, but if you look any closer, it looks raggedy real fast. The base color is like a translucent blackish, which just looks a bit strange. The biggest thing is that it begins to chip really easily, even with a base and top coat that tend to work pretty well for me, and all that taken together means it goes from fab to drab more quickly than I'd like, especially for the price. :/3
I probably should've read the reviews. When I hear the name, 'Ruby Red Slippers', I don't think of black with red glitter. It's a nice product, but just not my style. I'll be returning this ASAP!2
Aboslutely LOVE the color and finish of this product. Bad thing is it came off life peel off polish! The color on my entire pinky nail just fell off the very next day after painting it!! I tried WITH a base coat, WITHOUT a base coat, WITH topcoat AND base coat, nothing helps...by day 2 almost all 10 nails had fallen off whole (the polish came off whole in a nail shape). I LOVE this color but wish it would stay on.2
The description of this product is "Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers" which made me think of a rich red glitter. Which is what this polish looks like---in the bottle. However, once applied, you realize the red glitter is suspended in black polish! It's definitely more Halloween/Queen of the Dead colored that holiday party appropriate. As far as the polish goes, it also requires 4-5 coats to cover, and takes a long time to dry. I'm really bummed! I was looking forward to wearing this now that Christmas is near, but unfortunately I'll be returning it.2
