We don’t need the excuse of a fancy holiday party to get glammed up—it’s always a good time to sparkle (though a slammin’ New Year’s fete doesn’t hurt). This galaxy-inspired set of minis by polish legend Deborah Lippmann was created for maximum glitter. Get your fix with Twilight Tone, a rich black polish with holographic particles; Blinded by the Light, a silver holographic glitter; Cosmic Love, a pink jelly with multi-colored sparkle; Fantastic Voyage, a sheer blue with colorful glitter; the peachy-pink Champagne Supernova, and Lost in Space, a stunning deep blue with holographic sparkle.
Deborah Lippmann polishes are truly the best!! Great color selection, long lasting, always receive compliments. Have this set of polishes. Very pretty5
I love the glitter polish that comes in the set, very pretty color. The only downside is that this polish chips easily.5
I put on a color that was to bright for me so I applies
this wonderful glitter and it toned down the color and
I now love the look. It gives the nails a more polished
look and it stays on. It doesn't take a little longer to
remove but it is well worth it.
I was tremendously lucky when my sisters gave me this as a gift! A different high quality sparkle nail polish for each holiday party (and then some). I'd been looking for a color like Twilight Tome for YEARS! But Champagne Supernova is my favorite by far. It means I get to have sparkle nails at work. :-D5
I really love Deborah Lippmann glitter polishes. I think this set gives a nice variety of polishes to try out, and I didn't have a huge issue with application or chipping, though I would classify these types of polishes as more "advanced" polishes. If you are new to applying nail polish, these glitters do take a bit of patience, especially if you applying them by themselves and not as a sparkly topper.
My favorite ways to wear these:
Blinded By the Light & Champagne Supernova are amazing as glitter toppers over a dark base. They look nice on their own, but I think they really give a unique stunning affect over navy, plum, and black nails. (And bonus, this makes them so much easier to work with!)
Lost in Space and Twilight Zone are fantastic on their own and the easiest to work with. Opaque in 2 coats, and didn't chip for 5 days when I applied a base and top coat.
Fantastic Voyage and Cosmic Love are SUCH unique glitters. Both can be used as glitter toppers over a variety of other base colors, but can also be built up to wear on their own. Fantastic Voyage on its own gave me more nail compliments than any other polish I have ever owned, and Cosmic Love over a light or bubblegum pink is so cute and girly.
If you are a nail polish junkie, I think you will love these! I do not regret this purchase at all. :)
I wish I had waited a couple days to order this and been able to see the review from 11/14 - I am pretty disappointed with these polishes. I normally love Deborah Lippmann polishes, but these aren't doing it for me. I painted my nails with Twilight Tone - the black sparkle - last night and it feels like sandpaper on my nails. Very gritty, which I suppose is a good effect if that's what you're expecting/want. I was hoping for more of a glossy sparkle. Like the other reviewer said, the lighter colors are ok for adding sparkle on top of a different base coat.
I'll have to stick with purchasing Deborah Lippmann colors in person rather than online so I can see how the finish of the color comes out.
I really loved the concept of this set- I love the space theme! I especially loved the name Champagne Supernova! I bought the set on sight when I saw it in the Birchbox shop. After opening the box and swatching the colors I was pretty disappointed. All of the holographic glitters (Blinded by the Light, Cosmic Love, Fantastic Voyage, and Champagne Supernova) look the same on their own. I put 4 coats of the polishes on my nails before the slightest difference began to emerge between them, and since they are minis, I didn't want to waste a good fraction of the bottle on a manicure to make sure the sheer polish base was visible. . These are going to be used as glitters over a base polish color. The saddest thing is that the polishes flake off. They don't chip, they come off in a nice sheet. Even with a base coat, my pedicure- which usually lasts forever - didn't make it through the weekend when I used "Lost in Space". The darker colors: Lost in Space and Twilight Zone have a matte finish, which is kinda cool. It does apply on the gritty side, but not as gritty as some other "sandy" polishes.2
Love deborah Lippmann and love this collection. The glitters are a little hard to spread and get on the nail without using large amounts of polish. But be patient and just paint a few thin coats to avoid using large and bulky amounts of polish trying to get the glitter on.4
