Cynthia Rowley’s latest fashion-forward collection just might be our favorite ever: The design guru has created her own makeup line. (Do we need to say we’re excited?) Get your hands on her launch collection—exclusive to the Birchbox Shop. It includes her plum-themed Eye Shadow Palette - No. 1, a superprecise Liquid Liner in Brown Ink, and her Gilded Canvas Bag. A $57 value!
This was a great way to introduce the new and pretty color palette from Cynthia Rowley. The case is great for keeping essentials organized and the liner that comes with it works wonderfully. The shadows are fresh and new and complimentary.5
I adore Cynthia Rowley's collection! The palette is absolutely vibrant and well worth the splurge. The colors are slightly shimmery and highly pigmented, but the liner seems to stop working after a while after makeup touches it. It could possibly be the makeup I am using, but my Stila liner seems to tolerate it.4
I purchased this as a gift and was actually surprised at the size of the makeup bag, I was picturing something much smaller. I loved the design of the bag as well as the design on the outside of the palette. Since it was a gift I left everything in the boxes it came in since I did not want it to look opened when it was received however when the person I gifted the product to opened it, three out of the five eyeshadows were broken and one was almost completely powder. I thought the product looked great but it is almost unusable because of the condition it came in. It was extremely upsetting to give a gift in this condition.3
This was just the revival my eyes needed. I'd hit a wall with my options for eyeliners, and found myself rotating between liquid and pencil, and not particularly pleased with either. CR's eyeliner applies virtually foolproof. You can literally just paint this on your eyes, and it will look fantastic. The eye shadow palette contains the shades I use for all walks of the day. Appropriate shades for work, and then full force for the evening. Also, a little, tiny bit of the eye shadow goes a long way. This is now the only eye shadow I own.
The pouch is super cute, and a fun little bonus.
My best buy yet from Birchbox.
The clutch is a beautiful size and color. Doesn't quite fit all the makeup as I need. The eyeliner is perfect. The makeup is good for going out but not that neutral.4
I was totally wow-ed by this collection when it came in the mail. I got it as a holiday gift for a friend and wanted to keep it for myself! :) The bag alone is adorable and a great size - bigger than I expected. The eye liner also has really cute packaging, but the eye pallette is by far the best thing about this collection. The colors are perfect for hazel/brown eyes and for those with green-ish colors. I absolutely loved it and will definitely consider buying one for myself!5
I did the pre order for this collection and was disappointed when I received it. The images led me to believe the shadow would be much brighter. I can live with muted colors, but the quality isn't very good; chalky, hard to apply. The eyeliner was fairly average. I do love the bag, but I feel like I paid $42 for a cosmetic bag because I won't be using the shadows.2
I will definitely be buying the eyeliner again. It's so easy to use and jet black. The shadows are beautiful and long-lasting. I use a primer first. They're easy to blend and look great on their own, in combination, or with a wet brush as a liner. The bag is adorable, too (though at first it smelled strongly of plastic - had to let it air out for about a week before I could use it in my purse).5
I absolutely love the design on the canvas bag, the eye-shadow palette, and the eye-liner. It is so fun and cute. A lot reviews say that #2 and #4 are very similar but after you put them on you can see that they are very different shades. #4 is a lot darker and yes if you use too much it looks a little like you got punched in the eye. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion prior to applying the eye shadow and it lasts all day. I am looking forward to seeing more make-up (and possible nail polish in an awesome bottle) by Cynthia Rowley.
I would definitely recommend this product!
Not worth the price or the hype. I am a lifelong liquid eyeliner addict and this one is not quite the Holy Grail I was hoping for. It applies perfectly as far as being able to get a razor sharp line and having control but the product itself is not great. It is not very intense and doesn't last. The eyeshadows are beautiful colors and really make my blue eyes pop, but they seem to have very little pigment and do not apply smoothly. They remind me of chalky dime store eyeshadow. The packaging is far more impressive than the products themselves.3
