Not all shea butters are created equal. The eco-conscious folks behind Shea Terra Organics sourced this unrefined version from the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative in Uganda, which is famous for abundant rainfall that helps shea trees flourish. Local women harvest the nuts by hand before sending them to a mill, where they’re distilled for the rich moisturizer that’s great for face, body, cuticles, and hair alike. Compared to its more common West African counterpart, this East African shea butter is creamier and has a less noticeable scent, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
Great moisturizer that goes on lightly with a subtle fragrance and is not terribly greasy. I just wish it would last a little longer!4
I use this nightly on my lips and even on dry spots on my hands. A little goes a long way. Can be a bit shiny if you use on your skin, so I wouldn't necessarily use during the day on my face, but great for lips anytime.
Because of the friendly ingredients I use this on my little ones at home to help their dry skin/eczema.
I bought this for the first time. And it is the greatest shea butter I have ever tried. I want more. I bought Organik shea butter the last time by mistake. Not as good.3
I use this product everywhere!!!! It's great for body and face. I have also replaced at least three products using this one. Body lotion, my make up primer and morning face lotion. I feel it has the same traits as make up primer my face looks pretty poreless after I use this. Warning if you use to much it will look glowy or a little greasy. I also have skin issues on my outside of my ankle that requires medicated lotion, this works for that too!5
I was hesitant to try this moisturizer because of the scent- it is not appealing to me. Scent aside, this stuff is amazing for moisturizing rough areas (I use it on my feet in particular). This product is worth putting aside my aversion to the scent and somewhat greasy texture.4
I was excited when I received this in my box as my hands and cuticles were very dry. When I put on a small amount it just sat on top of my skin. For hours. It never really absorbed, and later that night when I washed my hands they really didn't feel and better than before.2
I immediately, fell in love with that product! It makes my skin feel super soft even my super dry hands feel great after using it!5
Really moisturizers well but a bit too oily for my taste. Keep in mind a little goes a long way! Definitely does it's job well.4
as a caregiver and RN i have very dry hands coupled with eczema. this cream was soothing and relieved my dry skin. i also liked that its organic and eco-friendly!4
I purchased this for my husband who has been using Shea butter on his face. This kind is so easy to get out of the jar and apply. Other brands you have to work at it and melt it in order to use it. This stuff doesn't have a fancy smell, but the naturalness of it doesn't bother me. I actually have been using this as moisturizer for my brand new baby. I will repurchase when we run out.5
