Not all shea butters are created equal. The eco-conscious folks behind Shea Terra Organics sourced this unrefined version from the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative in Uganda, which is famous for abundant rainfall that helps shea trees flourish. Local women harvest the nuts by hand before sending them to a mill, where they’re distilled for the rich moisturizer that’s great for face, body, cuticles, and hair alike. Compared to its more common West African counterpart, this East African shea butter is creamier and has a less noticeable scent, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
I keep this in my purse for my cuticles. Works wonders on the dry skin on my hands. smells wonderful.5
Very hydrating, but it doesn't sink in at all. Very greasy feeling. The smell is not very appealing either, though my dog is crazy about it.3
This is great, I use it on my hands and face at night. It is oily but not gross. Not overpowering on the smell and it is a solid in the jar but melts when I touch it.5
I first came across this as a sample in my Birchbox but, as soon as I tried it, I knew I had to purchase a full size sample. During winter, my hands usually get super dry but, as soon as I put this on, my hands were noticeable softer and so, so soft; highly recommended product.5
This product has been so valuable to me as someone who works in a restaurant environment and constantly has to wash their hands. At first glance I thought it might be too shiny, and too sticky, but it is neither. It goes on smooth and brings back to life any area you put it on, from your hands to your elbows, to your overly nose blowing dry skin. It is so pure you do not feel bad for over indulging.5
I adore this Shea butter. It moisturizes so well and makes such a difference! I can't go a day without using it. A little goes along way though so keep that in mind.5
I was excited to have another Shea Terra Organics sample in my bircbox! This product is great for dry skin, since this winter has been horrible! I will buy in the future!4
Too thick and kind of sticky, I won't be buying this one. The smell is also a turnoff, like burnt wax?3
What a great product! I have noticed a significant difference in my hands. Love this shea butter! Will definitely purchase in full.5
Love this stuff! Quickly absorbs into hands and leaves a yummy light scent. I use this at work and it is perfect because it does not leave those gross greasy marks on my paperwork. Such a relief to my dry hands that I am constantly washing during the winter season. I swear you can feel it working on your hands... I know my hands are thanking me!5
