Not all shea butters are created equal. The eco-conscious folks behind Shea Terra Organics sourced this unrefined version from the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative in Uganda, which is famous for abundant rainfall that helps shea trees flourish. Local women harvest the nuts by hand before sending them to a mill, where they’re distilled for the rich moisturizer that’s great for face, body, cuticles, and hair alike. Compared to its more common West African counterpart, this East African shea butter is creamier and has a less noticeable scent, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
This did a great job at moisturizing problem areas, but it was really greasy. The butter is a bit difficult to spread (it's really thick), and had some lumps in it. Overall, it wasn't a bad product, but I probably won't purchase it.4
I love this stuff!! I have very dry patches of skin and this works wonders! I also love to put this on my feet before bed. I wake up the next morning with silky soft tootsies. This also is an amazing product to use on a new tattoo!! I used it on my son's tattoo (he has rather sensitive skin) and it kept it moisturized and protected, wonderfully!5
This winter has been exceptionally hard on my skin so I was excited to try this product. It is amazing! It did wonders for my dry winter hands and elbows. I use it nightly and it helps my hands stay smooth all through the next day.4
I absolutely love this product! It is so versatile, which makes it great for travel. I use it on my face as a night moisturizer, on my cuticles, as a lip balm before bed, and even on the ends of my hair when out in the sun!5
Great moisturizer that goes on lightly with a subtle fragrance and is not terribly greasy. I just wish it would last a little longer!4
I use this nightly on my lips and even on dry spots on my hands. A little goes a long way. Can be a bit shiny if you use on your skin, so I wouldn't necessarily use during the day on my face, but great for lips anytime.
Because of the friendly ingredients I use this on my little ones at home to help their dry skin/eczema.
I bought this for the first time. And it is the greatest shea butter I have ever tried. I want more. I bought Organik shea butter the last time by mistake. Not as good.3
I use this product everywhere!!!! It's great for body and face. I have also replaced at least three products using this one. Body lotion, my make up primer and morning face lotion. I feel it has the same traits as make up primer my face looks pretty poreless after I use this. Warning if you use to much it will look glowy or a little greasy. I also have skin issues on my outside of my ankle that requires medicated lotion, this works for that too!5
I was hesitant to try this moisturizer because of the scent- it is not appealing to me. Scent aside, this stuff is amazing for moisturizing rough areas (I use it on my feet in particular). This product is worth putting aside my aversion to the scent and somewhat greasy texture.4
I was excited when I received this in my box as my hands and cuticles were very dry. When I put on a small amount it just sat on top of my skin. For hours. It never really absorbed, and later that night when I washed my hands they really didn't feel and better than before.2
