It’s a myth that you need to work yourself into a lather every time you step inside the shower—where your hair is concerned, that is. This moisturizing no suds cleansing shampoo from NYC-based Hair Rules is the real deal, leaving strands squeaky clean without the (unwanted) help of harsh detergents.
This cleansing cream was just ok. Hair seemed to feel greasy faster than with other cleansing creams and the smell was odd - like body lotion.3
I really really liked this stuff. I have dry, baby fine blonde hair that never really gets oily, but gets straw-like with frequent shampoos. It took some getting used to with this stuff - it felt strange to not have any lather, and it didn't feel like it rinsed out of my hair entirely - but the end result was worth it! Super soft, sleek hair that wasn't weighed down at all. (I did use a separate conditioner as well.)
I'm taking off a star for the fact that I felt like I had to use handfuls of product to achieve cleansing, though. I'd go through a bottle super fast.
I have very fine, dry hair, and I can't seem to go more than one day without shampooing before my hair gets oily and gross. The best way I found to use this product was to use a regular shampoo one day to feel clean (since I know a lot of people complained about that), but then I would use this shampoo the next day. This way I didn't get oily and gross, but I also didn't get the extreme static and flyaways that I get from using regular shampoo every day. I recommend this for anyone like me who doesn't want to do regular sudsy shampoo every day, but also doesn't feel clean with dry shampoo. I think this will also be a winter staple for me.4
This is an OK shampoo. It is hard to get used to the "no suds" but it does have a very clean feeling. Probably better for thinner hair.3
I have thin, fine hair that does not really get too greasy but can be fragile. I thought for sure this one would make my hair greasy..not so! It is a little strange when you use it and think there is no way it will clean you hair without suds but my shampoo lasts for three days, my scalp feels clean and I do not even have to use a conditioner after. Love this stuff!5
I was a bit skeptical about a no suds shampoo/conditioner. Until I used it. I will admit that I cannot use this everyday - I have very fine hair and if I use this product daily the conditioner gets a bit heavy for my hair. I find that if I use this twice maybe three times a week my hair has a nice healthy shine and minimal fly a ways. Do try Hair Rules - it s a really great product. Looking forward to summer and a lot of swimming with my son - truly feel that this product will help keep my hair moisturized from the pool chemicals.
I will post a part two once I am able to put this product to the test!
I wasn't a big fan of this shampoo. I have pretty dry hair, so I usually only wash my hair 3-4 times a week. I felt like this shampoo didn't get my hair all the way clean, because it would look like I would need to wash my hair again the next day.1
My hair didn't feel clean and the strong smell stuck with me all day. Not for those with fine, straight hair.1
I tried this product because I have heard great reviews on sudless shampoos. After using it once I was a grease ball as soon as my hair was dry. The only positive is that my hair smelled great!1
The shampoo just wasn't for me. I don't understand the no suds appeal of a shampoo. The shampoo had a pleasing scent, but that's about the sum total of the positives for this shampoo, unfortunately.1
