In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
You can't see it on my lips!! I was very excited about getting this product and so disappointed when I tried it.1
This product feels sticky and has an awful taste. It does give a nice stain on the lips but I can't get paste the sticky nasty taste. One the cheeks, this product feels sticky as well and streaks.1
The color was not a good match for my skin tone. I was not a fan of how the color went on either. It went into my granddaughter's play makeup. :(1
Not impressed with this product. For being a bright red color, it didn't give my cheek or lips any tint..1
Since this product is so well known, I thought I'd get really great results from using it. However, I didn't really find anything I liked about it. The applicator (like a nail polish brush) makes application difficult since it's such a small line. I also thought it barely showed up on my skin at all. This product is very watery and not very pigmented in my opinion, so I think it's definitely not worth purchasing. Also, I heard from some other people stories about spilling this product. This would definitely be easy to do, so be careful!1
I purchased this product to try it out and was very disappointed with it. The label says to use three dots and spread with finger, the problem is that when doing so most of the tint stays on your finger rather than the area you desire it to be on. I was truly unhappy with this product will never purchase again. Total waste of money...1
I honestly hated this product. Its watery, smells funny and left my fingers red and BARELY left any color on my lips at all. I can honestly say, it was awful....1
I found this product difficult to use on cheeks as it didn't blend well and I felt a little like a clown. When I tried it as a lip stain, it had a really funny taste to it, kinda like soap. I gave the sample to a friend.1
In fairness, I haven't tried this on my cheeks, only my lips. I haven't had much luck with gel or liquid blush (I like to have more control). I do love lip stains so I was excited to try this one out. First of all, it smells like roses. Strongly. One layer adds a nice shade for natural looking lips, but since I have darker skin, I like two shades. Before I could add another shade, I needed the first layer to dry completely before adding a second layer. If I added more right away, it ran down my face. I could tolerate the waiting if it lasted longer on my lips. About an hour after applying it, it was gone.1
Thanks birchbox for sending me a product from this brand. I absolutely love the brand. But I have no luck with their lip and cheek stain. I find it hard to blend. This product is not for me.1
