In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I bought this before but don't love it. Sounds like a great idea...lip and cheek tint, but you can't see it at all.1
I just sampled this product. I am normally more of a lipstick or lip gloss person, but I'm willing to try something new. I just tried this product, and I was very unhappy with it. It was very light. You couldn't see much of the color. It may have been prettier if it was darker. Also, it had a very strong scent like perfume. And... if you get any on your mouth while putting it on your lips, horrible taste! I didn't try it on my cheeks, but I definitely was not happy with it for lips!1
I tried this product as directed in the packaging , but didn't see any tint. No color what so ever. This product isn't for me , but thanks for the sample.1
smells odd and does not spread easily
i know many people love it but it just is not for me. It settled into the lines of my lips.
I was really excited to try this product because so many friends love it, but I have to say I'm not a fan. The solvent that this tint is in is some sort of rosewater, which if you lick your lips is NOT tasty but very astringent and bitter. It is also very drying to my lips because once the solvent evaporates it takes the moisture in my lips with it. Very disappointed with a product that I really wanted to love. Back to the lip tint drawing board!1
This product has great reviews as well as a multi-use idea.. it should be love at first sight! I tried this out of my monthly Birchbox and wasn't impressed. Must need to give it multiple layers or tries, but I have mostly forgotten about it. Went on nearly clear. Tried it on my cheeks, too. Hope you have better luck!1
Granted I only tried this on my lips and not my cheeks, I am not a fan. I wasn't expecting it to be as liquidy as it was, but that wasn't the issue. I put it on my lips and it ended up splotchy and uneven. I looked more diseased than anything, so I had to cover it up with my normal lip color. I won't be purchasing...1
Nice cheek stain, however you must immediately blend it once its on the face. A little goes a long way therefore tiny dabs on the cheeks will add a nice touch of color to your everyday makeup.1
I thought the story behind this product was unique, but I didn't like the product. When applying this product to your lips, if you are not careful and use too much it will leak into your mouth and stain your teeth! I found that once applied to the lips that the stain fades/comes off quickly and doesn't last. It also did not give enough color to my cheeks and I had to add powder blush on top of it. Overall I just don't think this product accomplishes its goal.1
I know the product should be liquid, but I don't like the liquid effect.1
