In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I am someone who rarely puts a lot of makeup on unless I'm going out. This tint was great way for me swipe something on quickly and gave the natural look that I usually go for. It wasn't too dark and just gave a faint color to my cheeks and lips. I found that I had to put quite a bit on for it show up on my skin however. But once on, it last my entire with needing to be reapplied, Which is a huge plus in my book. I would totally use this product again.4
Was skeptical at first, but after hearing such great reviews was excited to try it. Takes some practice applying but really nice color and coverage that lasts! Will try on my lips next.4
Love this product. I have used it on cheeks and lips. Smells just like fresh roses right from the garden.4
I tend not to wear much lip color, as I don't like lipstick or gloss that rubs off. So a tint like this one is great for me. I really enjoy the color - just a splash, and flattering. You have to wait for it to dry before layering. And the tint tastes a bit funky. But I'm really impressed with how it works overall, and I'm also excited about how much came in the sample tube! I will likely purchase this when I run out of the sample.
I've only tried it on the lips, btw - not on the cheeks.
I love anything benefit - thanks for the sample. It works well - I put it on my lips, and then add chapstick on top. But I have a gazillion other similar things, so I don't think I'll buy it just yet.4
Absolutely love trying new products an this one gets a thumbs up! its easy to apply very light an very trendy looking.4
i like this product a lot - and so did the bf. he was happy it wasn't a super bright/obnoxious colour that some stains leave. this was especially pretty on the lips for a light wash blush red.4
I think it's easy to use and I always wanted to try a lip stain. I'm not sure it's for me but I welcomed a try.4
The cutest little bottle came in my January box. Perfect to use now when I travel. It works like a nail polis bottle. You swipe the color on your cheeks and lips.
If you don't move fast, the color penetrates and can leave a mark, so you want to put a few light swipes on one cheek first and then blend with fingers and then move the next one. I made a mistake and put about 3 swipes on each cheek and by the time I finished the first cheek the second one was already drying.
Also, because I used my fingers to rub the stain in, my fingers were then stained, I was able to wash it off, butI am not using a little swab, you can use a cotton swab.
It lasts all day. I love wearing blush. I have tried powders, gels, creams and liquid blushes and this one really has staying power.
My skin tone is on the lighter side medium/olive/tan, and I think it looks great on mine and can see it working on many different skin tones.
This was one of the first cheek colors that I purchased when I started with makeup. It's easy to use and stays on throughout the day. I didn't use it for the lip color, just the cheek. It's a nice rosy tint and looks natural.4
