In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
Love this stain - perfect for lips and cheek! I like to use my Dr. Lipp balm before or after to give my lips a bit of moisture, and add the stain for color. It lasts for a long time and gives a really pretty pink-red shade depending on how much you apply. Must have!5
Not sure if there even is a fuss. This is pleasant enough to use - light, no real odor, easy to apply - but I just didn't see that it really did anything. I got a good pinkish glow on my cheeks and lips right after application but it was gone the next time I checked the mirror.3
I love this for my cheeks! But, I did not like it as a lip stain. The rose scent reminded me of the rose scented perfumes and lotions that were popular among older ladies when I was a kid. Anyway, I couldn't really smell it when I put it on my cheeks. But the scent was strong on my lips, and didn't really add much color, no more than a fruity lip balm would.4
I didn't care for this product. It did the reverse of what I would want in a lip product by staining my lips red. My lips just looked irritated.1
I thought this was so cute, you apply it in little drops that look kind of syrup-y. I love it as a lip tint because it doesn't fade or get on your teeth. I don't know if I'm using it right as a blush tint, but it's still really fun to apply! The downside was that I spilled some and it kinda stained my finger for a bit, but that was over an hour ago and it's almost gone now. Love this product so far!5
This product was easy to use and provided great color. It dried quickly so I could just apply a coat of gloss and I was out the door. This is a plus with the pace of my life.5
I like to use very little makup on most days. This gives me just a hint of color that is very natural looking.5
I am a fan of powder blush for my cheeks, so of course I tried the benetint on my lips as a lip stain. The color is wonderful, and the scent is light rose-scented, which I liked a lot. However, this tastes terrible if you happen to lick your lips when it is either wet or already dried. I did find it to be much less sticky than other gel style lip tints, so I would be more likely to try it on my cheeks. It lasted significantly longer than other lip stains I have tried, however the application is alittle messy. My first time, I simply brushed it onto my lips and layered several coats to develop a dark stain that I desired. The formula is super watery, so it bled into the creases of my lips and even out onto the skin around my lips. I definitely suggest a red or clear lip liner to block this bleeding color if you plan to apply with the brush. The next time, I dotted it onto my lips and blended with my finger. That produced a softer effect and less bleeding, however, then my finger was red for a while. I truly prefer the "marker" pointed tip pen style applicators for lip stain. Obviously this product doubles as a cheek stain, where a pen wouldn't be the best application method, so I understand the brush for benetint. Overall, i enjoy the product. I hope they come out with an orange shade, I have been looking for one!!4
I love this product but it goes on funny. Definitely need a mirror when applying but will be using it!4
I really enjoyed this product. I only use it on my lips (not cheeks, so I'm not sure how it works there). But, it looks great on lips. I'm usually not a huge fan in the 2-1 products, but I like this brand and product.3
