In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
This was a great little sample that worked well. I am not too hot on the price, so I won't be buying it, but I would recommend it to a friend.4
This stain has been around forever and is really great...for the first few hours...and then it fades away. That's my only complaint...if it would stay on longer, I'd be a more consistent user.5
With Benefit and this did not disappoint. Love that it was long lasting like it said and glowy as cheek stain.4
I applied, and as soon as the application dried there wasn't even a mild tint (which would be nice, just enough color, you know?), but it did go on nice. It has a nice smell too it but it's a bit strong for my taste. I have several Benefit skincare products that I love, but this is my first sample from the makeup line they have; I can't say I'm interested, but I will say I love the idea behind this and would probably opt for a darker tint (I'm fair skinned and didn't see a different with the red). The packaging the sample came it was super cute too!!2
The smell of this product is terrible. I'm guessing it's roses but it is overpowering and horrible. Trying not to breathe in, I went ahead and tried it. It was extremely watery and did nothing on my lips. I tried some on my cheeks and it was very subtle. Not worth using vs blush. And the color doesn't go well with my skin. This sample is going immediately in the trashcan.1
The birchbox sample came in an adorable little box with picture instructions. It works just like it says it does, and I like the hint of color on my cheek. I love the lip wear, I can't feel it on and it doesn't smudge so lip gloss or balm will go right over it. It smells like roses, very nice.
However, for something that goes on your lips it tastes really bitter! It also stains your hands if you use your fingers to blend, which shouldn't be surprising.
I've been using this tint for about two years now and it is amazing! It looks very natural and lasts for a long time so it's good to wear when you want to be more casual.5
I'm a sucker for a lip with natural looking color and this product delivers. Often times, stains don't look or feel too natural, whether it be a color that morphs over time, a chemical smell, or even the applicator will feel like you're drawing on yourself with a marker. Using Benetint on your lips is awesome, just dab on and add on if you need more pigment. The fact that it can double as a blush is also perfect. It gives you rosy cheeks like you've just come in from the cold - in a good way!5
This gives you the perfect amount of blush! Gives you a glow and you can use it on your lips and cheeks!5
I have been using this product for two years as a lip stain in the winter months. The nice berry pop is great for the dull winter months! Thanks for the sample to add to my collection, Birchbox!5
