In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
Benetint doesn't live up to the hype for me...when I used it I could barely even tell it was there. Might be my skin tone?2
I was surprised to learn that one of the ingredients is made from a rose, a product made from a beautiful flower.5
I first learned about Benetint back in college but have never purchased it myself. I don't generally wear blush, but I think it's very nice on my lips and it lasts a long time!4
I've used this for years. Love the color - it looks very bright in the bottle, but is a subtle red rose on and can be layered for more intensity. I find it hard to blend as a cheek stain because it is so pigmented, but it is my go-to lip color for a flattering red. Lasts a long time and worth the purchase!5
This is something that I’ve been seeing forever on beauty blogs and Sephora ads. I’ve never really wanted to try it since I didn’t know what it was for. After a little experimenting I love this stuff! It’s perfect for those no makeup days when you just need a little color and glow on your cheeks. For instance, last week we had a 7 a.m. flight which meant I got up a little after 5. I wasn’t about to take the time to put on makeup, but once we were close to our destination, I put a little on my cheeks and lips to wake up my face. The only downside is that it dries fairly quickly, so only do one cheek or area at a time! Will I purchase again: Most definitely!4
I discovered Benetint from a post on a blog that I follow (Keiko Lynn) and I absolutely loved it! I do use a clear lip balm or salve with it as my lips have the propensity to dry out. I was beyond thrilled to get a travel-size bottle in my monthly Box.5
I LOVE this product! This is, hands down, the coolest product I've received---it's guaranteed to be a new staple in my makeup routine. I love the natural color, how easy it is to apply...it's a joy to use. I'm pretty sure this product has now introduced me to my new favorite makeup line--Benefit! :)5
I have this product in the pink tint as well as the red. This product is great for lips. I can put it on in the morning and have great color all day. I usually apply a gloss over it because it can look a lil dry. Howeer, as great as it may be for lips I did not like it on my cheeks. The color was too bright and the lil brush made it hard to apply.4
I wasn't a big fan of this product. It is rose-scented, and while I don't usually like flowery scents, the aroma was not over-powering. I tried it on both my lips and cheeks, brushing the product on my finger and then dotting on and blending. It stains your finger red, and I found it a bit hard to blend. It tends to settle into any skin imperfections, and I found that it bled a little around my lips.2
I've used other lip stains before that have dried out my lips terribly so I was really surprised when this one didn't. It gave very nice color that lasted quite awhile and looked great with a clear gloss applied over it. I also love it as a cheek stain as you can layer as much as you want. I love that it just gives you a sun-kissed/slightly pinched look without making you look like a clown. Very nice product!5
