In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I haven't tried a product like this before, so I agree with the commenter below that instructions would be helpful. I also tried another commenter's suggestion about applying chapstick first and then the tint. That made the color last a little longer for me.4
I love how sheer this product is. It gave my cheeks a nice glow without looking made up. Very natural looking.4
This lip tint is everything I've been looking for!! I don't like glosses or lipsticks, they just feel too heavy/sticky. This is perfect!!5
I love this product, It smells amazing, and it feels great when I put it on. My cheeks and lips had a nice, natural look to them.5
Love this product. Gives my lips just the right amount of lasting tint. A must have!5
I'm not one to always reapply lipsticks or gloss so I was excited to try this. It stayed on under my chapstick all night and I even woke up the next morning with a bit of color to my lips. Try a little when you start b/c a little can go a long ways.5
I liked this product for my lips, but not my cheeks. I used it under my lipgloss and liked it; however, I wish it stayed on longer.4
I was a little nervous to try a "stain" product, but I was pleasantly surprised. Perfect color on my cheeks, and added a nice hue to my lips. I used with a gloss on top!5
I liked this but the shade was way too dull for me. I was hoping for something that would pop a bit more!3
I received this sample in my March birchbox. To be honest I think I have received one in the past from Sephora but Never knew how to use it. Thankfully Birchbox includes a quick how to and I began using it immediately under my lipstick. AND WOW! What a difference my lipstick lasts ten times longer. I love it!
I would not suggest making the mistake of rubbing your lips together too much and getting this stuff in your mouth- it is bitter. Also, I think that using it with reverse lip liner would help prevent the feathering that occurs around the edges of my lips- which is disappointing but could be a result of my own anatomy.
