In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a best-seller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I got a sample of this a while ago. I don't usually wear much heavy makeup - I'm really finicky with lipsticks and balms because with my super oily skin, they tend to make me break out around my lips. This stuff is great! Just adds enough color to lips and cheeks to give the illusion of a more "natural" make up face (especially since I tend to accentuate eyes instead of lips). Then I can top with my normal lip balm that adds a little shine. Wore this for my sister-in-law's wedding, and it looked fantastic!
5I have never used a liquid stain before so I was skeptical. I have been a powder blush girl for a long time as the main staple of my beauty regimen. I now only use this stain for my daily cheek needs. it is subtle yet effective. With just one application it lasts all day through work and even into night occasionally with just a little touch up. I found it only slightly effective on my lip but it is nice to know if I ever need a bit of color added I can use just this one product.
4I just use this stuff on my lips, but I love it. I've never really been able to use anything thick and colored because my lips are always too chapped, but this doesn't make it look at all like you're wearing lipstick - it just makes it look like your lips are that nice red color. It isn't sticky or heavy in any way, and though it doesn't last forever it fades nicely. I hardly ever use anything else!
5Thank you Benefit for this amazing product!! I have been using this specific one for about 7 years and still going strong. Everytime I use it people are amazed because it looks like I'm putting nail polish on my face but when they see the results, they're jealous they don't have it. I usually will put this on over my foundation and pat it in with my index figure about 15 seconds after I've applied it to my cheekbones. It also works great when you combine with vaseline to make a good lip stain. Very versatile, I love it and I think anyone else would too!
