In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I found Benetint to be great on the cheeks , but not on the lips. On the lips it is absorbed into the lines and looks unflattering. On the cheek it is perfect for a flush of red , I just dot on and stipple with a stippling brush and it is perfects. I do prefer the beams over the tints though.3
I've used Benetint before, and was happy to receive a portable sample. I really enjoy the color and fragrance. Unfortunately this isn't great for winter lips in Chicago, as it tends to emphasize any chapped areas.4
I was really excited to get this product in my Birchbox! I was a little disappointed to find that the color is almost completely sheer on my lips. I thought it would redder. It does blend quite easily, but I'm not too crazy about the texture. It also has a bit of a chemical scent to it. Overall, I was a little disappointed.3
Good as a very natural blush, but as a lip tint not what I want. Not my favorite product but I love the brand still the same.3
I love the way this allows for the look of a red lip gloss without all the mess. Dresses up your make up look without going overboard!5
This product is great. Very natural and lasts all day.5
The benefit benetint was a nice shade of rose and worked ok as a blusher for cheeks. It did not work for the lip stain though. If you get any in your mouth it tastes like spray on fragrance or cologne so I am not interested in purchasing.2
I do not use tints on my face or lips and therefore this product is not for me.1
I've never heard of this product until BirchBox but I absolutely love it!5
I tried this as a lip stain and blush replacer. Neither worked for me. I did not like the lip coverage. As I already have a rosy complexion, this really did not add any benefit and made me look too "pink."2
