In 1977, Jane and Jean Ford, the twin sisters behind Benefit, met a local dancer who requested a long-lasting red pigment that wouldn’t budge during her shows. They listened, and this beloved rose lip and cheek stain was born. Year after year, it’s a bestseller for good reason: the translucent color leaves us with a natural flush so we look pretty, not made-up.
I like the stain on my lips with a little vaseline, looks natural and healthy. Reminds me of summer after eating a cherry popsicle. This is a great product for a casual Satruday, but not polished enough for the office.4
I really have never cared for this brand. I knew of this product, but was prepared not to like it. I was pleasantly surprised. I own other lip stains, but have always found the color to be a little strange. This had a nice believable color. I wouldn't mind sampling the other color they have as well, but will probably purchase this in the future.4
The color of this tint is very subtle both on my lips and on my cheeks. It smells good, but tastes bad if you accidentally get it in your mouth before it dries. You only need a tiny bit, which is nice, a little goes a very long way.3
When my mom and I received our boxes, she was hoping to receive this product, and did not. I got it in my box, but I wasn't a fan of it, so I traded her for her mascara.1
The color was really ice and natural. But I felt like it really dried out my lips.3
Provides a very natural looking cheek glow
Easy to apply
I really love this benetint for my lips. It gives it a great subtle color that stays. I like to use it over my chapstick. I have not tried it on my cheeks yet, but only because I like the blush I already have.4
This is one of those products I always wanted to buy but never quite justified spending the money on it, so it's exciting to get a sample of it in Birchbox. The color gives a great flush to cheeks, with staying power. I use Benefit's cha cha tint and posie tint, and I love how they look on my cheeks, too (and that a little bit goes a long way!). I can't speak to Benetint as a lip stain.4
Good for the summer, but I'm not a huge fan of cheek/lip stains. This is the classic.4
I tend to stick to using powder blush on my cheeks, but I was really satisfied with this product as a lip tint. It smells lovely, goes on easily (even more easily than most of the lip stains or tints I've used), and stays for a decent while. I liked it quite a bit.5
