If “non-foaming shampoo” sounds like a paradox on par with “non-delicious cupcake” and “boring unicorn,” allow us to enlighten you. Non-sudsing cleansers are free of harsh parabens and sulfates, two ingredients that can cause damage to already-brittle hair. And this multitasker from Nelson j Beverly Hills doesn’t just stop at cleansing—it works seven wonders for hair health, including conditioning and detangling. Bonus: the minty citrus scent is a delicious wakeup call.
This shampoo leaves my hair very smooth and sleek. I can't use it more than 2 days in a row, though, or my hair looks too flat. This sample will last awhile because it isn't a daily-use product for my fine hair.5
I was very excited to try this shampoo, it's the kinda product I've been looking for. I didn't mind the scent and the texture was good too. I just cut 5" off my long hair so this was a good choice for shorter hair, probably not for longer styles. The day I used it, I blow dried my hair and it was super shiny and soft, but the next day it was very thick feeling and oily and felt overall dirty, which my hair never feels dirty the next day. I was very let down because I thought this might be the next great shampoo for me but second day results were a let down. Not sure if I'd recommend this to anyone.3
I was very happy to receive this product through Birchbox. Super moisturizing - so much so that I didn't need to follow with conditioner.5
Not used to a shampoo that doesn't have suds, but works well!!4
What the heck? Why are there little green balls in this shampoo? More importantly why can't I get them out of my hair. Doesn't help that it didn't really seem to get my hair clean1
I have an oily scalp that starts to hurt if I don't wash my hair in 24 hours, so I tried to use this on a day when I knew I wouldn't be going out. My scalp still hurt after following the directions and I found the smell nauseating.1
Scent was nice, but didn't really care for the texture3
I thought this product worked well and did its job. It cleans your hair without damaging it. It does not get soapy so don't expect that and it smells like peppermint. The only thing I didn't like we're the little beads that are in it , they got stuck in my hair and just felt weird !!3
Not for me, I'm currently using another line non-foaming shampoos/conditioners made specifically for curly hair. I'm completely happy with my other product.
Nelson J on the other hand leaves me much to be desired.
First of all, I hope the full sizes aren't made with as ridgid of a container. I struggled to get my sample out of the bottle. The thing that irrattated me the most was those annoying blue beads. I could never rinse them all out, given how thick and curly my hair is, those large particles just get stuck. I would pick out 3 or 4 out of my hair the next day. So annoying.
The shampoo itself is okay. Smell was tolerable, herbal if slightly medicinal. Didn't find it scenting my hair in any way. In it's performance, I didn't find anything special. Wouldn't really reccomend this to anybody, honestly.
I was a bit suspicious about the non-foaming part, but quickly realized that it's a great benefit for my frizzy, wavy extra dry hair. In fact I can wash my hair no more than twice a week because of the drying effect of all foaming shampoos. This one felt like washing with a conditioner. Hair didn't feel crisp dry after natural air drying and waves were well defined, without frizzy hallo all over my head. The sampler bottle though is a bit too small IMO and the consistency is too thick (it was a hassle to get it out in the beginning). The tester's bottle neck should be wider for this consistency.4
