When BY TERRY created this nourishing balm back in 2003, the brand had no idea it would gain cult classic status so quickly. A favorite of Parisian models and Hollywood actresses, the daily essential plumps and soothes chapped lips with a blend of precious actives. Pure rose essential wax smoothes away roughness, while shea butter doubles the formula's moisturizing powers, bio-ceramides undo the look of fine lines, and lipid spheres help skin retain hydration. Plus, it also works as a luxe nail treatment for dry cuticles.
Well...I'd heard the amazing reviews on this lip baum and desperately wanted to try it out. Upon opening the cap, the first thing I noticed was the strong scent of artificial roses. I'm a migraineur so it was not a smell that agrees with me. The product is creamy and easy to apply. It's definitely hydrating but it seems about as good as a quality chapstick that I could purchase at Whole Foods for $5.00. I do not feel as though it is worth spending $59.00 for this product. It is hydrating however, there is no wow factor on this. I prefer using Jason's vitamin D oil right on my lips, it's just as good for $10.00.
So... I don't dislike it per say, but I don't love it either. For $59.00 I have to love it to buy it again.
This product is my new favorite lip balme! The texture, the consistency, the scent, the taste, the color, AND the fact that it's SPF15?! I will never use another lip balme again - and THAT is saying ALOT. I am IN LIVE5
I have been using this for about a month and at first did not see what the hype was about but the more I use this balm the more I like it. It has a slightly sticky wax like consistency that feels creamy and soothing on the lips. It stays on most of the day and to me seems like it makes a barrier between my lips and the world. I tried to stop using it and found that my lips don't feel or look as soft, supple, and healthy as they did when this balm was in use. The only negative I have is the price.4
This product truly deserves it's reputation. Cleanly made, naturally scented with the rose oil it contains, it s also fun to put on. The kind of product we should , if it were more affordable, have by our bedside, in our desk at work, and in every coat pocket!5
I got this in the vanity affair box. I have really dry lips but I've been using it on my lips and now they feel amazing. I love the scent.5
this balm is perfectly light and smells like fresh roses. You can't go wrong. Plus, you only have to use a little s it lasts forever!5
I have read so much about this balm over the last few years, and when I noticed it was in Birchbox's shop, I had to purchase it. It is indeed every bit the miracle moisturizer I have read about. I prefer this product to the one containing color, which I purchased at the same time for many reasons.
The Original balm is basically colorless and can be used on dry areas on the body. I have used it on rough, dry cuticles and it works better than any cuticle oil my fingers have ever met. When I used it in the evening before bedtime, my cuticles were soft and pliable when I woke up the next morning. In fact, it has been several weeks and my cuticles have not returned to their former state....and all that after only ONE use. I would not have believed this if I hadn't experiebpnced it myself. I am truly amazed!
I mostly use the this on my lips, and it lasts a long time on them, keeping them soft and lovely with only their natural color.
This is a thick product, and I would not use it on my facial skin. When using it on lips or cuticles, very little is needed, meaning this little glass pot of luxurious rose balm will last a long time. My only disappointment is that I didn't buy this sooner!
Based on other reviews I expected this to be a wonderful, miracle product. It was not. On the good side, smell is not strong and is actually kind of nice. On the bad side, it is sticky and actually made my lips more dry than they already were. I've given it many tries and every time I use it, my lips end up cracking and peeling. Back to Vaseline.1
The sample size for this is teeny-tiny, but you don't really require much to get some pretty amazing results. I have really dry hands and my cuticles are awful from working with paper all day--and this stuff is a miracle. I'm in love.5
Yes, it's pricey! But it's so worth it! Love the moisture it gives and the smell is wonderful!5
